Great book for so many reasons.
So many reasons to love this book:1. It is a beautiful book. The paper, photography, font choices etc. make it really pleasant to read and something you could have out on the counter in your kitchen.2. The recipes are easy to follow and they sound delicious (I haven't tried them all yet, so can't say whether they taste as good as they sound...)3. It feels like Alex and Raquel are right there with you, because their writing is so friendly and approachable.4. The science at the beginning of the book (and throughout in recipes) is really interesting.Definitely a great book to own, and a really nice alternative host gift to wine or flowers.

A great book for the homesteader to own.
The layout of the book makes for an easy read and is displayed beautifully with the text and graphics of the recipes. Excited to begin my water Kiefer fermenting journey.

An interesting book
I got this mostly for the kvass recipe, but there are others in there that sound interesting and I might have to give them a try. Book is nicely written and illustrations are great.

Reading several of the other reviews it's obvious that this book is highly appreciated by food experts. My perspective is one of a food enthusiast with little real knowledge. This book is fantastic. The information flows in a way that make me feel smarter just reading. The content has/is persuading me to not only try fermented foods, but to consider making them, all a pretty big leap for me.

Recipes are not only healthful but delicious.
I've only made 3 things so far from this book and they've been delicious, as well as healthful. My favorite is tepache, a fermented mildly alcoholic drink made with pineapple rind. Worth the price of the book alone. It has a thorough explanation of the fermenting process and equipment and the directions are easy to follow. This is a good book for someone who wants to get started with fermentation.
