Saint Gianna Beretta Molta A Woman's Life 1922-1962

Our book club read this book and so I am writing not only my opinion but a composite of the thoughts expressed when we discussed the book.Saint Gianna was a very remarkable woman for her complete trust in God and willingness to follow whatever path the Lord laid out for her. In reading this book, one sees that the decision which led to her choosing the life of her baby over her own was one decision in a lifetime of choices which put God and others first.This is a fast moving book and serves as a good overview of Gianna Molla's life. While it is clearly written by someone who admires her very much, and who shows no "chinks in the armor" of this woman-one might certainly read other books and delve deeper-this book is still a good introduction to Saint Gianna's life.

Before reading this book, I had the impression (without even realizing it) that all saints were people who lived secluded lives hundreds of years ago and spent 90% of their time in prayer. This book illustrates the life a "normal" woman who lived a devout life in the modern world. She was an intelligent woman who was a highly educated doctor, and also a wife and a mother. Her life shows how devotion to God does not have to mean the exclusion of all else.Read it near tissues though. If you have children, you will almost certainly cry when you read how she refused to sacrifice the life of her child to save her own.

good read, got a good sense of who Gianna Molla is and how joyfully she lived her life.

Enjoyable read. I wish there had been more details concerning how Gianna became a saint.

A modern, little-known saint in the USA. Her story provides a great model for young women and mothers of all ages.

Fascinating Story of Saint Gianna~ very informative regarding her Journey of Faith, Love of God and Family and devotion to her children.
