Love/ Hate relationship with Maelove Sun Protector
What can I say. It almost PAINS me to even say that I have a love hate relationship with this sunscreen. This seems to work for a lot of people, and it works for me to a certain extent...let me explain. I am early forties, with combination/ normal skin. I have pretty “ unfussy” skin that I’m proud of and take good care of. Ok, so, on the one hand the formula is so awesome. It’s reeeeealy hard to find a good non chemical sunscreen with great healthy ingredients that doesn’t feel like you are slapping crisco on your face. So that’s what I love about it. It feels nice and light, but it’s also weird because it doesn’t seem to mesh with any other of my skin care products that I use...and under makeup it feels thick and heavy. What I hate is that when paired with my usual light serum and lotion and foundation, it just doesn’t work. It causes my foundation to ball and pill. I’ve tried numerous different light serums and lotions underneath this, and it’s always the same story. It also causes my foundation to pool in my pores and look awful. When I wear this alone with my foundation, the same thing happens. Pooling and balling and pilling, so I know it’s not just the skin care I’m using. And yes, I’ve tried at least four different foundations with this too. Still doesn’t work and feels heavy. So I hate it under makeup. But by itself for sun protection, it feels nice and light, so I guess I can just use it by itself without makeup, but that kinda defeats the purpose of why I bought it in the first place. Too bad. Wanted to love it.

Great for sensitive skin!
I have been using my Sun Protector RELIGIOUSLY for the past few months since I found this gem. I can't believe how mild this sunscreen is for my sensitive skin - I would break out in hives from other popular daily moisturizers/sunscreens, but The Sun Protector is the best thing I've found for my skin! I love knowing my sensitive skin is being protected AND since this doubles as a primer, I know my face is going to stay fresh and be set for hours!

Great, not perfect!
I like it OK. It has a slightly heavier then gel texture, minimal odor. It dries rather quickly once spread, I have to work quickly. The white cast is barely on my skin. I use Clinique's Chubby Stick in Intense Ivory as a reference for my foundation shade. Once it dries, the white-ness will disappear on my skin. The after texture on skin is sticky on touch, satin matte visual. I have to dusty a bit of power on top to make my BB cream go on a bit easier. I have oily skin so my pores are ginormous. This doesn't sink into my pores or creases at all. I mean everything sinks into my pores when people say "oh this doesn't sink into pores at all". It will sink into mine! (ie... Fit Me Poreless Matte) I don't burn easily, I've never been sun burn before because I am never in the sun that long. I can't say how well this holds up again preventing burns. Any how, there are a lot of goods to this sunscreen. The only down side for me every time I use this. I should say the entire week that I've used this, every night I get home there would a pimple waiting for me. Two on my chin, two on my nose and one on my left laugh line. It's very annoying. How can something so good have such an annoying effect on me? I'll give it a few more tries. Maybe my skin will get use to this after a few more tries?

My New Favorite Sunscreen!
Maelove's sunscreen is my new favorite and number one go to.After reading about all of the adverse affects sun damage does to your skin, I've been obsessed with finding the right sunscreen. I've easily tried a dozen different brands and this is hands down the best. Why?1. This is a premium mineral-based, rather than chemical-based sunblock. If applying and reapplying, I want something natural and delicate on my face.2. The cream rubs in smoothly, without leaving any traces of chunky residue.3. Maelove's product is lightweight and comfortable - unlike other products, my face doesn't feel like its coated with some thick, oily layer after applying this cream. While this product is more expensive than most other sunscreens you'd find in a convenience store, remember that it is a premium product. Don't you want to be skin cancer and wrinkle free? I do. Don't skimp on price - you get what you pay for.

It's a skinsaver!
I'm not a huge fan of sunscreen usually... I find them too thick and it feels like my already sensitive skin can't breathe! I was interested in this since it doubles as a makeup primer, and it's all natural.I really liked it, it's probably the best sunscreen I've used so far. It's not as long-lasting as my regular Smashbox primer and I'll still use that for days when I know I'll be out for a long time, but this has replaced it as my go-to everyday primer since it's just so convenient as a 2-in-1 (and cheaper!) and there's a really minimal ingredients list, which makes me feel better about putting it on my face everyday!

The Perfect Base!
I was a skeptic when reading the claims that The Sun Protector would be light as air (what sunscreen is??) and also act as a makeup primer because my makeup never stays put, even with high-end primers. But I took this gem with me on a summer trip to New York, and it kept me looking and feeling fresh throughout the hours of travel, hot humid days, and even a flash thunderstorm! At the end of the long nights, my skin wasn't greasy, which shocked me! I typically need to blot my face at least 3 times during just a work day to manage my oily/combo skin. But those days are over! The Sun Protector has by far been the best and easiest addition to my hectic morning routine. It's the perfect base for my makeup, and I no longer skip applying spf every morning because this zinc mineral sunscreen truly is light as air! It has such a natural finish – it absorbs into the skin and doesn’t leave a sticky white cast or tell-tale chemical sunblock smell. It's definitely a HG product for me!! (And my husband loves it too, as you can see from his hand in the attached pictures with mine!)
