Funcilit Neck Relief Hammock Cervical Traction and Relaxation, The Original Portable Cervical Traction and Stretcher Device for Chronic Neck and Shoulder Pain Relief (Black)

I bought this item to replace a traction device that I bought on Amazon several months ago for $17.98. The device worked well but was not of the quality that I had hoped for. This device arrived yesterday and appears to be identical the previous device except that it cost TWICE as much. If you are considering buying this type of device, buy the cheapest one available.

Pinched nerve in my neck is better by using this device. Pain is relieved and it holds the ice in place (use ice). None of it is comfortable it's not fashionable either - not a good look. Makes you look like a chipmunk that just found some peanuts. Doctor advises it helps lubricate disc. I believe it helps correct posture. It does not come with instructions but it is pretty self evident what you do. I have found putting the closure on the back of my neck works best because the goal is lifting the head and it uses your chin/jaw to do that. Plus the air hose connection is in the front. If you close it under your chin the air hose is going to get bent on the back of the chair -- hard on hose and stops air adjustment. Hold the device closure together while pumping it up makes the Velcro work and putting a cloth back there to keep your hair from being pulled helps. It could be a little more roomie but I can make it work - one more inch in length of tube would do it. I am 6' and 240, if you are any bigger look for another device that can accommodate a bigger neck. I suppose you could close with a ace elastic wrap or Velcro strip. Perhaps the other choices are more comfortable but they are for sure not as powerful and that's what you need. More versatile than other choices. I plan on using this while fishing if need be. It could fall in the mud and a hose would clean it off. Yes it does smell when it gets out of the package because it is made of heavy duty rubber type stuff, so spray it with your favorite smelly stuff. Smell goes away quickly. Pain is a motivator and this helps pain go away. I have never used any other. My first one got a leak and I ordered a replacement and when it came in I returned the defective one - no problem -- Amazon is the best and I believe this company has made an affordable, durable and most importantly effective device.

I got this hoping for some relief from a couple of degenerated disks in my neck. I gave this 2 stars is because it's a great idea. This is made for people with shorter necks and tough skin.I have tried putting something soft around it and on top of it to make it stretch the neck without hurting my neck. No luck.

This device has helped my neck and shoulder pain. I try to use it daily for 30 to 60 minutes.My wife is more sensitive and says, " it hurts the bone on the back of my neck ".She has compressed spine so naturally has more problems and might need surgery.I am happy with the traction device and glad I have it.Update.....after only using the device for almost a year it has developed a leak in a seam near the end of the device. I am going to complain to the company but don't expect any advice from them. I will then try to patch the leak I guess, otherwise it is useless to us now. Hope this helps someone else that is looking at this thing.

What a shame that no instructions were included. I did not know how long to keep it on. I did not want to cause more problems than I already had. When I received this device, it had a hole in it. I could not return it for a replacement, only a refund. My husband had to put on a "blowout" patch on it before it could be used.

I got double billed, so gave one away that I paid for but didn't order. Smells very latex like, for a while. At first I was sure this was going to break, but its still going strong. Its in no way the same as the one at the chiro, but still good for home use.

It was delivered without a manuel for explaining correct and optimal use rendering it not safe to use. When I contacted them about the DVD that was to be included, I was told that they ran out. ???

My coworker has this item, and loves it, and recommended it to me. I've used it only once and like it so far. It currently has a strong plastic odor, but I'm thinking that will soon go away. I was disappointed that it did not come with any paperwork as to how to use it, like for how long or how often. The pump, the lock, and the release all seem to work just fine. I will continue to use it when my neck hurts and trust that it will provide pain relief.
