Five Stars
Simple sighting system in the day that works great at night. Not flashy like some multiple color deals.

Amazing sights. Adding visibility to the front makes them perfect.
Heinie makes a really good rear sight. They are clean and non-distracting. The "Straight Eight" night sight design (2dot) is much easier to line up in the dark. That said, the visibility of the font sight leaves something to be desired, so I modified mine a bit and they are now perfect for me.The night sight selection for the XDS is limited. I initially got the Trijicon HD front (very visible front sight) and attempted to find a matching rear(or have one made) that was similar to the Heinie rear sight. Specifically, a plain, serrated rear that came back to the rear of the slide. Trijicon was lazy with the HD in that they just reused rears made for the Sig, which don't come back to the rear of the slide. That makes the Trijicons look a little funny and you lose some sight radius on an already small pistol. After weeks of trying to match a rear to the Trijicon HD front, I gave up. The front sight is just too big and modifying a rear to match it was too difficult. So, instead of trying to have something custom made to mimick the Heinie rear sight, I would just get a set of Heinie's and modify them mimick the Trijicon HD fronts.Worked out great. There wasn't many pictures of the XDS with Heinie's online, so I'll add some here. Note: They are slightly modified. I painted my front Orange and the rear tritium vial housing (the silver part) black, two features I really liked about the Trijicon HD's. Those little tweaks to the Heinie's made them perfect.
