I was very pleased with the messenger bag when it arrived today! It looks great, and the workmanship is good. Seams are excellent. There was no objectionable odor, like some others have noted. I'll be putting on a coat of Neatsfoot oil to soften and protect the leather a little bit. It is made of goat skin, which is a thinner leather than leather made from cattle. However, goatskin is tough and I expect it to wear well for this item. All in all, a great bag, especially for the price. Update after a few weeks: Still like this bag, especially the long shoulder strap. The magnet closure is not a favorite of mine. Otherwise good. Have had this bag for a couple of month and am editing this with one additional piece of information: For me, the outer pouch is just not big enough. My cellphone, wallet, glasses case, etc are too tall to fit.

I was nervous to get this because of my lack of knowledge on leather. However, after letting it air out for a few days (very strong leather smell) I am thrilled! I ended up getting 4 more. Originally I got this for my husband as a bible protector case/bag. But with the extra pockets and the size being unbelievably perfect I decided to get one for myself and each of my kids. Wonderful quality, beautiful bag! Great for guys AND girls! Love it!!! I didn't notice until today that the inside of the bags aren't all the same. Some are green and some are tan. Doesn't make a difference to us either way, we all are very pleased here!

This is a nice bag for the money. It comes out of the box a bit stiff. Mine was not smelly or waxy like some of the other reviewers have reported. Maybe the trade off is stiffness instead of pre-treatment. In any case, I don't see the stiffness as a huge drawback. A bit of saddle soap, a bit of mink oil and a bit of daily use will soften the bag up. Otherwise, given that it is not all that easy to find a good inexpensie 13 inch bag that comes with a handle, and given that it is a sharp-looking briefcase, I would buy this bag again. At $45 it is not an incredible bargain, but it is not unreasonably priced and seems well-enough made to handle the rough-and-tumble of daily use.

so great for the price! actually I would’ve paid a lot more for this bag but i’m glad I didn’t have to. you can tell it’s handmade which I really like, and I like how thin the goat leather is. there are large zipper compartments on both sides inside the bag, as well as two large pouch pockets. it’s a great size for everyday. I can keep my wallet in the front button pocket, and inside I can fit a myriad of small things, my water bottle and a pair of flats all at the same time. so happy with this purchase! also I know the description says it’s for men but I’m a woman and I’m in love with this bag (if I hadn’t said that enough already). surprisingly high quality for the price point :)

Beautiful bag. I wish I could use it. The ODOR that hit me as soon as I opened the bag...I absolutely hate giving bad reviews on products. People need to earn a living, and most do not sell substandard items just to make a quick buck. However, in this case I must speak honestly. This is a very nice bag, well worth the money that I paid for it; unfortunately, the odor makes it unusable. A customer should not have to jump through hoops buying leather cleaner and other products scrubbing away in the hopes of wiping away the horrifying stench from a newly-purchased product. The company that sells this bag needs to seriously reconsider the tanning process and make a much-needed change. You are ruining a beautiful product by substandard tanning. That’s my best guess as to why it smells so bad.If this bag did not smell so badly I would happily give it four stars. If you are looking for a beautiful bag and are willing to spend time, money, and effort cleaning it up, this bag is for you. If you want a bag that you can use as soon as you receive it in the mail, please continue shopping.

I bought this for my husband. He is diabetic and has to carry diabetic supplies with him all the time. He had a smaller bag but, it was not ideal for his needs. he said,"I am running out of pockets to carry what I need". He is very very happy with your Urban Dezire small briefcase Satchel. He carries all his diabetic supplies, kindle,cell phone, a small writing tablet and ID card folder. The size is just right, the leather is smooth and soft, the workmanship is superior. It has a classic design and look. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!
