I first tried this Japanese floor mattress thanks to my neighbor, who kindly let me borrow his for a week. I had just gotten rid of my baby’s crib (she refused to sleep in it anymore), and I was searching for a floor bed option. After using this mat, I completely fell in love with it and immediately ordered one for myself! Now I sleep on it with my toddler, and when she falls asleep, I can easily roll over and sneak out of the room. It’s so comfortable that I honestly feel like I’m getting the same quality sleep as I do in a regular bed. A huge bonus is that it comes with a cover (I wasn’t expecting that!) and a large storage bag, which makes it super convenient to pack away. I also tested it while camping. For years, I used blow-up mattresses that always slowly deflated overnight and left me tossing and turning. This year, I ditched the air mattress and brought this Japanese bed instead—best decision ever! I actually slept through the night and woke up rested, which never happens with inflatables. Pros: • Extremely comfortable (feels like a real bed) • Perfect for co-sleeping with my toddler • Comes with a cover and large storage bag • Easy to roll up and store • Great for travel and camping • No more dealing with deflating air mattresses Cons: • Honestly, I can’t find any downsides! If you’re on the fence, just go for it. It’s versatile, supportive, and such a great investment. Highly recommended!

I bought this due to limited sleeping arrangements at home, I end up sharing a twin bed with my 8 year old, and lose my spot the moment I get up @ night to use the restroom, and then I end up on the floor on a stack of pillows or next to my snoring partner. I needed something comfortable, offered some pain relief, and easily folded up, and transportable. Best sleep I've had in a while. The mattress is cool, soft and comfortable. Happy I have my own portable bed now!

I’m really happy with this Japanese Floor Futon Mattress. The extra thickness makes it super comfortable. It strikes the perfect balance between being supportive and soft. This futon was fine and comfortable for most people. I just wanted something out of more natural products and I found something to return this.

I used as a bottom layer, with another foam mattress and together they are suuuuuuuper comfy

Don’t order the light blue .. I think there’s a problem with the whole lot of them because the first one I got wouldn’t open and it just stayed real hard and crinkled in the middle like plastic is in it and then the one they sent me to replace it was exactly the same so I had to get a refund. The black one I ordered in the pink one I ordered is really good.

Been reading reviews of many futons and usually bad reviews are saying they don’t fluff up. Since there was not much of an option available the ships fast enough for when I need to use it, I settled on ordering the green one since it was the only one available, thinking it’s going to be covered with whatever bed cover I put on it anyway. I didn’t know that the mattress actually comes with a cover which is a plus. And yes, it comes with strings to pack the mattress and a storage bag. The mattress arrived pretty much on time and when I first got it out of the plastic, I thought they sent me a baby-size mattress (of course it seemed small, I haven’t let it fluff yet.) I took the photo of when it was just out of the plastic which is the squiggly mattress one. I thought they sent me a full size and I ordered a queen. I waited for an hour and it doesn’t seem to fluff anymore so I was panicking for a moment. But I thought to try pulling the seams to maybe make space for the foam inside to expand more, and that actually worked really well. I was able to feel the corners of the foam and tried to match it with the outer seams and eventually speed up the fluff process. I am sleeping on the carpet floor and the mattress is thick enough to be comfortable. I should add that my weight is around 175lbs so I can’t vouch for how it would feel for people who weighs more than me. I can still feel the floor, but not as much as the other floor mattress that are 2”-3” that does nothing, and since I’m on a carpeted floor, that might also help a little with the comfort. But this floor mattress definitely is of good quality. Con: Unfortunately it does smell of chemicals/plastic and you will have to air it. However, if you have the fabric freshener spray, that might help speed things up a little bit if you’re in a hurry to use it and/or have a room like mine where the windows don’t open all the way for air to circulate. I don’t wake up from back pain or shoulder pain and is able to sleep through the night so far so I would say this mattress is a great buy for me.

Initially I would have rated this 5 stars as it’s pretty comfortable with decent support, and fairly easy to roll up - perfect for a kid or two and comfortable enough for me. However, the main reason we purchased this is because we are a family of 5 and we stay in a lot of hotels. While the mattress is fantastic, I wish that the cover provided was waterproof or something because cleaning the mattress is not easy. My biggest complaint is the bag. It is a thin piece of junk. After ONE use we had to use duck tape in two spots, and I used upholstery thread to sew the carrying straps in a couple of spots, which, by the way, ripped again the next time. If I was just using this at home and storing it in the bag, sure, 5 stars, but I was looking for portability and the provided bag, which is almost like a dust cover rather than a bag to carry it like it shows in the picture, is crap.
