"This was my first straight razor experience and it was pretty good when I could get the hang of it. When I wasn't nicking my face it left a very smooth shave, you have to have patience and time to be able to master this art. I have neither when it comes to having to get up extra early just to shave before work. Nevermind my gripes, if you are looking at this and looking at buying into a straight razor this is a great one! However maybe take the advice I should have before buying this try your hand at a Safety razor to get into wet shaving.It has a good weight to it, very easy to grasp (it does take time to get used to the grip so be patient.) The blade changes were fairly easy and fast.Do make sure you dont leave the blade in wet overnight, I forgot to remove the blade after shaving and the next day or two I came back it was rusted"You get a pair for the price.

The spine or blade holder is a good width guide. You should only have about the width of the spine from your surface (face in my case). Smooth short strokes rinse blade and re-soap often. My Vintage Straight Edge Safety Razor is amazing. The look and feel of it in my hand is perfect, so are the weight and balance of it. It glides on my face, to give me that perfect shape to my beard I wasn't able to get with a regular razor..
