Q: I live in a dorm and can't remove the shower head, but it has painful water pressure. I'm looking for something to add on to it, would this work?

Hello and thank you for your interest in our product! This is fixed shower head and it should be mounted on a pipe or a shower arm. You cannot add it onto an existing shower head. You also cannot mount it on a hose. Please make sure that there is a pipe where you can screw the shower head.

Q: Is it better to take the water restrictor out or to keep it in cause I took it out and it is very low flow shower

You have to remember, if your household water pressure isn't very high (40-50) you can remove all the restrictors you want, it's not gonna fix low water pressure in your home. But if you have decent water pressure (55+) then removing the restrictor will increase your experience.

Q: Which adapter, if any, can i use to change it to fit a new 1/2 inch handheld shower?

Hello and thank you for your interest in our product. This is a fixed shower head. It should be mounted on a pipe on the wall or ceiling. The fixed shower head cannot be mounted on a hose for a handheld shower head.

Hello! Yes, the joint can be unscrewed. If you decide to remove the water restrictor, one of the ways to do this is by unscrewing the ball.
