I can't speak to lifespan of these but they work perfectly in my lanterns and weigh a fraction of conventional batteries. It takes a while to charge but since I only use the lanterns infrequently that's not a big deal.

I bought this after reading an internet thread on vintage flashlights and lanterns. I dug mine out but was turned off by the cost of conventional batteries. These batteries are much lighter in weight than the old type and are rechargeable so should last a while. I would recommend.

Using in an old US Navy battle lantern. Bright as the original batteries for sure. It's a little tough to keep the spring contacts down when installing in a battle lantern and the springs look a bit flimsy so I will be extra careful when taking them in/out for a recharge. Looks like if anything will fail, it would be those spring contacts. Batteries are much lighter than usual 6V lantern type. Can only recharge one battery at a time. If these batteries last well for even four or five charges, you got your money's worth.

It charged fully... once. Then it stopped charging properly and would not power my flashlight.

Definitely a money saver. Best find for a person who collects railroad stuff. Great for the battery operated railroad laterns

Hard to find items! Normal lantern batteries do not last. Every time I need to use the lantern, the battery is dead already (even it was never used). I had a chance to use them once when the power went away in an early evening. These lanterns work very well during the only two hours power outage, and they do their job in an unexpected power outage.
