My apartment in New York City has an older combination tub/shower that gets really slippery.  It was time for a new bath ma and I chose this one after looking at a lot of them.  I give this mat five stars as there are a lot of good features.-The size is really large.  Many others available are much smaller.  This one covers my whole tub.-It is really nice and thick.  Very good quality that will last a long time.-Tons of suction cups that really hold the mat well   I followed the directions to put it in.  Really easy    It also includes instructions for how to keep it clean (my last one got moldy, yuck).-The design is really nice and seemed like the nicest one available (I looked at many).  The bubble pattern is spa like but also would be good for kids.  -Machine washable is such a nice feature.  I include a towel with it so it has something to scrub against.  I will post an update in a few months if anything changes.

Easy to install and clean, the only thing I didn't like about it was how strong it smelled - like vinyl. I hung it outside for days, washed it, and it still smelled. Luckily I only use this for when my mother in law is visiting or when I'm bathing my dogs. Speaking of dogs, I found that after I bathe them on this mat all I have to do is hang it outside and let it dry thoroughly and all the hair will brush right off rather than all going down my tub drain. The smell has gone down after several months, but I'm still not thrilled with that.

Fits perfectly in the tub - is see through so I won't let it get gross from mildew. Has nice suction cups which keep it slightly above the bottom of tub allowing water flow and breathability. I would purchase again. HOWEVER, it stinks like plastic in a serious way when you first receive. Had to leave in garage for over a week before it dissipated. Would buy again though, keeps people from wiping out in the tub!

I think the quality of this is probably fine but my wife doesn't like the feel. The suction cups make a kind of hard bump underfoot which can be uncomfortable. Probably doesn't need so many suction cups?

This mat is definitely slip proof, although I did expect it to have slightly better suction. I have a fiberglass tub so it may stick better to porcelain. It seems to unstick occasionally around the edges. While it does have lots of small openings to help air out, be sure to pull it up and let it completely air dry. There is still plenty of space for water to become trapped and get moldy.

Ideal sized mat that offers good coverage of the bathtub floor. Bonus that you can put it in the washer. Does have a plastic smell, but it's to be expected and wears off over time. Surface has a textured design, but it's so crystal clear you almost can't see it once the tub is full of water. Decent suction and an overall nice product.

this thing smells horrible and i was hoping that by running water over it, it would clear up the smell but it still is super stinky and makes me worried that i'm poisoning my daughters bathwater.

I bought this mat to replace a standard rubber bathmat. It looks cool but its not very comfortable on your feet. The spaces in between the "bubbles" pinch your skin. In hindsight, I should have purchased another standard rubber bathmat.
