LOVE it, bought another and thinking about a few more
First: in April 2018 we went off-grid. I am an air conditioning girl. I love it, require it, especially at night - thought I couldn't survive without it - and I have insomnia. We went off-grid 4/2018 and it was the wettest summer in years - hot and humid, just awful - and I sleep upstairs. We run a generator during the day, but not at night - power off. I somehow survived and didn't kill anyone that first year but swore never again. The following summer (2019) I ordered this fan. I LOVE it - changed my life for the better. Not as good as A/C but it has saved me every warm night for three years now. And I ordered another one 2 years ago. It's amazing what a fan can do. And you do acclimate, which I swore would never happen to me. I legit thought I would lose my mind and kill people without a/c at night in summer. This fan moves a lot of air for its size. You can understand how it could be a jobsite fan for outdoors. You can run it very low or full speed which really moves some air, but if it's on battery power it won't last long on high. I didn't time it yet. They take the DeWalt power tool batteries which are rechargeable and meant to last on tools that take a lot more power than moving air, so for a fan these batteries last well. On low, the smaller battery will last more than one night and by one night I mean at least 11 hours. The larger batteries are much better, charge in less than an hour and last for a couple nights depending on the speed you use. Your experience may vary. These fans move quite a bit of air, and quite quietly - on high it's much louder but not as bad as a box fan. I like the white noise and can't see anyone complaining about the sound but some will. On low it's very quiet. You can use an extension/power cord with them to move quite a lot of air anywhere you are that has outlets, so even camping if you have a site with power. They have hooks to hang them upside down. The fan tilts quite a bit. It's rugged and easy to use. They aren't very large, but very portable and move a lot of air for their size. You can feel air moving from at least 15' away very well.I wish you could clean them more easily since we use them all year long: cordless and and plugged in, to move air in our home. We use them to move heat to other part of our home from our wood stove in the winter.I also take them outside, using the battery when it's hot or to keep bugs away. Set them on the ground and tilted at you or hang from an umbrella. The only bad thing I can say is they aren't easy to clean unless we missed that bit. Otherwise we have two and want at least one more. If they would come out with an oscillating fan in the same size I'd buy two immediately.

One is not enough...
After almost 3 years of using this fan everywhere, i can tell you that it doesn’t matter whether you are washing a boat, working somewhere without electricity, or just need a little cooling off this fan is a must have. I have used it for my dogs and to dry clothes as well. I don’t know what it is about hot summer days in the south, but it seems like there is never a breeze when you need one. This fan, as small and portable as it is, provides that little breeze that makes the difference in sweltering and tolerable.Typically, once your spouse/partner/significant other learns about the fan, they begin to grab it if they have to be outside for work or play...for you tolerable just became intolerable again. And it’s back off to the Amazon app to get another fan...do yourself a favor and just buy two the first time. Besides convenience which is probably their #1 appeal, battery life has got to be the number two best thing. 6ah battery will run this fan forever and a 4ah battery will get through most of a day. If you are convenient to a plug, pull the black flap up behind where the battery would go and you plug the fan in with a standard extension chord (NEMA 5).This fan can be used free standing, mounted on a tri-pod, the provided hanging hooks allow it to be hung up over a rod or rafter, or it can be mounted to a wall. DEWALT claims that the fan delivers 500 cfm. Finally, the biggest problem with fans is the blades always get dirty. This fan is easy to clean with a hose. I typically hang it upside down (you can protect the base if you want) and spray water through the ban blades (air from a compressor will work too). If the blades are really dirty, I have squirted som household window cleaner on the blades just to help with the dirt. I have also had the fan out when it started to rain, and there is some water resistance built it in to the fan. Lastly, the fan is pretty quiet. I have dropped this fan, had stuff fall on it and it just keeps going. If you are already using Dewalt 20 volt or Flexvolt tools, this fan is an absolute must have. Honestly, if you are here because you need a portable fan to plug in, this fan is a great choice because those features that make it job site tough and light will benefit you as well. I cannot recommend a fan more highly - well unless you live in Siberia...

This thing blows!
Ok, the title was a really bad pun, but this Dewalt fan really is a great product. How great of a product? I bought and for several of our family members for Christmas. At first glance, you may think this is just a shop/Jobsite fan... but in reality, it is way more practical. Here is how we use it...- Perfect for taking to the ball field on a hot summer day.- To use in a golf cart on the golf course- To set next to your chair poolside.- To use on your deck when you are away from the outlet- Use at the park or picnicBasically, you can take this thing *anywhere* where it would be nice to have a fan to help circulate air.Notes -- The battery life is related to the battery size... however, the fan really doesn't draw much power. A 3aH battery lasted all day at a softball tourney.- It actually pushes quite a bit of air but the fan *isn't* an air conditioner, so temper your expectations.- One consideration... the fan is pretty small so it has a limited reach and angle for the people who feel it.- Very quiet- Seems to be well built... I have not seen any issue with the build quality- lightweight and very portable.Final Verdict - a great, rechargeable, and high-quality fan that can be taken anywhere! We love it!
