A Very Modern Dictionary: 400 new words, phrases, acronyms and slang to keep your culture game on fleek

The book is nice quality, the front and back of the book has a vibrant gold/yellow color. The book itself is good quality, the pages aren't thin and doesn't seem like they will tear easily. I only gave this four stars because it has too many familiar and obvious entries, the authors could have gone deeper and added more obscure references to make it more interesting. I bought this book for my 73 year old mother and she knew a lot of these phrases already.

This book is FILLED with so many words, I am impressed. Many people who are feeling overwhelmed with today's vocabulary, I think, would find this book VERY helpful!

My husband and I were in Ontario and saw this book at the bookstore. My husband love dictionaries he's a writer) and I bought it for him using my cell phone. When we arrived home the book was already here. He loves this dictionary and is always with it when he's writing.

This is a must have/must give gift. It’s hailarous and makes for fun conversation with a group!

Good for a present

紛らわしい書名である。最初の見出し語項目　a crapella はその定義 singing out loud where no background music can be heard…から判断すると、a capella (伴奏なしで[の]、アカペラで[の])の誤植か。また品詞は形容詞になっているが、用例The girl in the library was making a total racket singing a capalla.では副詞である。いづれにしてもこのフレーズは俗語でもなければ新語でもない。Ain’t nobody got time for that(そんなことに関わっている暇はねえよ）は俗語っぽい。しかし、selfie(自撮り), selfie stick（自撮り棒）はもはや新語ではないし、ごく日常的な普通の語である。このように収録方法や収録基準が分からないあいまいな辞書であるが、拾い読みすると、ad blocker(広告ブロックソフト)などまだ辞書に収録されていないがすでによく使われている語にも出会えるので、★３と判断した。

2017年に出版された新しいスラング辞典です。掲載数は400と少ないですが、勉強になります。巻末に略語集があります。
