A powerful machine, but subject to premature OLED panel and ribbon cable failures.
I have in general enjoyed this laptop thus far. It has plenty of power and the OLED screen is beautiful. However, if you are a power user or plan to do college or business work, either get something bigger or plan to have an extra monitor attached via a Dell dock (I use the HD22 dock). Some users have reported issues with sound and other hardware. I did have an issue with sound myself, and it was resolved by installing the correct drivers. Yes... my laptop didn't appear to actually have the correct driver from factory! The big ding on this is a design issue. As designed, the ribbon cables to the OLED panel are subject to lots of movement, and of course this eventually breaks them down. OLED panel failures are therefore quite common. I have recently experienced this issue on my 1.5 year old XPS 9320. Due to savings up front on my purchase, I won't be out of any money fortunately, but it is a nuisance issue that can be prevented with a more robust cable, or an extra hinge to route them through and spread out the movement, like on classic Dell notebooks that were eternally lasting tanks.I have been working with a local shop to get panel sourced, but they seem hard to come by, likely because the issue is widespread. This should really be a recall or extended warranty type of situation, but I don't count on Dell to do that. I'm just going to have to fork out the 500 dollars for the repair.I won't say don't buy it. It's a powerful and capable machine. What I will say is if you do, minimize how often you open and shut the lid. I did it daily, sometimes 3 or 4 times, for over a year. If you almost never close your lid you're unlikely to have a problem.Because of the design issue leading to failure of the OLED panel, one star off. Because I have to pay for it even though it should be covered because it's widespread, one more star off. The three remaining stars are for it's awesome performance.

Probably not a device ready for release: Manufacturer and Software Issues
I loved the idea of this laptop. I switched from a MacBook Pro to the Dell XPS 13 plus last November. I am really interested in technology and love having the newest tech. However, the so called “early adopter fee” is very steep with the XPS 13 plus. It does look beautiful to start but it is plagued with crippling software errors. I am somewhat proficient in technology and can get around some of the problems by messing around in settings and using command center, however this is not an easy to use device, if you are not comfortable playing with the settings and software and if you need a reliable computer I would suggest not getting this computer. The greatest software problem that I have had is that about 50% of the time, sound will not play from applications not related to windows settings. I have had many other windows laptops and computers and this is the first time I’ve had an issue like this and apparently it is an issue many other XPS 13 Plus users have had (according to Reddit and Dell forums). There has been no official fix to this but for me, I had to turn off windows sounds (meaning notification sounds won’t play) but this will allow sounds to work on everything besides windows settings and notifications. Again, another example of the laptop not being easy to use. This is especially annoying going from a MacBook where everything works and if something doesn’t work there are almost always official apple answers to fix any problems you may have. However, by far the most frustrating problem I have had is with the screen. I usually try to take great care with my devices especially my laptops. My XPS 13 Plus was sitting on my desk, I had just used it the night before and everything was fine but then when I turned it on the next morning there was tons of LCD damage, no damage on the actual glass itself, it was not dropped or even touched over night. When I turned off the screen I noticed two air bubble in between the LCD and the glass, which is what I suspect caused the damage as they are placed where the white line begins on the display (bottom left). I contacted dell support about it and they said they will replace it. Thankfully, I purchased dell pro support for this project because the support person blamed the damage on me and said that its being covered using my once a year accidental damage. I tried to fight this as I am afraid that something else will fail on this computer and I don’t want to use my accidental damage on something that is clearly a manufacturing defect, most likely from improper sealing of the display. So if you do get this computer, I would highly suggest getting insurance for it or buying pro support, because I would not have faith in this computer lasting without needing to at least contact Dell support once. Additionally, even if somehow the screen damage was my fault, I am concerned that this computer is way too fragile.Overall, I wanted to love this laptop and when everything is working this laptop is great. It is beautiful it is futuristic, it is powerful. However, I am a PhD student who needs to rely on a functioning laptop and due to all the problems this computer has, I unfortunately have to say it was a mistake for me to buy this laptop. Usually, I trust dell and think they are a good company. I still use a 10 year old Inspiron to practice coding, however the XPS 13 Plus is unreliable and feels unfinished. I would not recommend this laptop unless you just want an expensive toy to mess around with but for how often this laptop has problems, I can’t recommend it for real world tasks. I wish I had gotten something else.

Don't buy.
I barely use this laptop. It's pretty much like new still, but the battery drained from 100% to 69% in the span of a few hours in sleep mode with a low energy/low power program open, but not running in sleep mode. I am so disappointed because my previous laptop from dell in 2012 has lasted much longer than this one. I've used this XPS 13 Plus 9320 for like a combined 72 hours total or less since unboxing. It's like Dell does not even do computers anymore. Other products and older products are much better.

needs more ports
This is a fine computer. Very light and compact. But two ports are not enough!!I want to connect power, two monitors, a usb-connected keyboard and mouse, and a phone charger. The multiport adapter can only support ONE monitor, so the second monitor has to be plugged into the second USB-C slot. When I connect power to the multiport, the computer complains that it needs more power. Really Dell, the use case of two monitors should have been considered.
