I've purchased heating pads for many years, since I've had back pain off an on for a long time. I've tried many types and brands, but what I've looked for over the years is something that works best when I use it at night - which i do often. The pad needs to be able to hook around me like a belt, have as long a time frame before auto off as possible and last a decent length of time. The one I preferred most has been out of stock and so i went on the hunt for a new one.I found this product that seemed to have what I wanted but I wasn't sure it would work. But it's great. Key points/answers that might help others:• The length and size are perfect for someone that needs that. I did. And the part of the “belt” that goes around you is very wide and very comfortable. Not like the pads I’ve had with a 1 1/2 inch elastic that isn’t comfortable. this one is about 3".• I LOVE the "velcro". It's like none I've ever seen and the way it attaches isn't really that type of stiff, plastic velcro that pulls at your PJs or tops and roughs them up. It's very smooth and solid.• I wasn't sure about the "leather" of the pad itself, if it would be too stiff. But it isn't. It's solid, but soft. And best of all doesn't wrinkle up like other heating pads that are made of cloth, even my favorite one. I think this will last for years.• I was mostly concerned that the "stones" would be uncomfortable to lay on, but I'm happy to say that they are not. I don't even know they are there. And they are great for holding in heat for a while after the auto-off• I'm delighted with the option of 4 hour auto off. Most pads don't go that far• There are none of the large electric wires that most pads have running through them and that ultimately cause the pad to stop working after you use it a couple years because they must get bent or something. There of course must be wires in there, but all you really feel is the leather pad and the stones.• The cord is VERY long which helps and there is none of the big 'connectors' that are uncomfortable that you can roll over on. It's connection from the cord to the pad is minimal, similar to the plug into a laptop.I’m very glad I took the risk to get this heating pad and definitely recommend it for people who use them frequently. It's not cheap, although there was a good 10% off coupon when I bought it fortunately.

I read the reviews and thought it sounded a bit "hippyish," but my back has been killing me and I am almost desperate, so I thought I'd give it a try. I understand how effective far infrared can be. I had never heard of healing effects of jade. I still don't, but I can tell you this was the most comfortable and soothing heating pad I have ever used! I liked it so much, I took this one to my office and ordered another for use at home!

Bought this because I heard that infrared heat is better for arthritic hip pain than most other heating pads. It is a bit cumbersome to use on the hip, but I've developed my own technique for using. Seems to be helping, and if it's not totally beneficial, it just feels darn nice! I did use it on my lower back that was super achy one afternoon, and it helped quite a bit. Although designed specifically for lower back, around the waist, there is enough play to use it elsewhere. With a bit of imagination, I think it should be great on achy knees, elbows, neck, etc. Just DO make sure you're not letting the heating elements come in contact directly with the skin. A heavy t-shirt seems to be just about right to insulate the skin from contact without hindering the heating function.

This is a fantastic unit. I recently had a very angry & painful lower back, and regular heating pads were too small, had poor coverage and would slide down my back if I shifted in my chair. This unit save the day. It fit well along my back, stayed in place and the temperature controls worked as advertised. I also wrapped it over my shoulder when I had biceps tendonitis. Excellent product !

I love this heating pad. I have been using it once a day to help with my lower back pain. The heat goes deep into my muscles and I get great pain relief. While my muscles are nice and warm, I do some back exercises and yoga stretches to strengthen the muscles. I am so happy that I found this heating pad.

We bought it 2 years ago and it no longer heats up.

I love the adjustable temperature. It’s easy to make it super hot on your back to begin with and then dial it down to keep you from roasting while still easing the pain. After using it I can walk and move around with a lot less back pain. I also use it on my knee pain. It works so much better than the electric one I bought of a different brand that was made specifically for knees.

Grade D because they do not look the least bit disposable but you can almost at your watch. Buy one that Kort is going to break. Do not plan on walking around with this on even though it looks like it’s built for that because it will not stand up to it and the cord will quickly wear out and break at one of two specific breakpoints that seem to be pretty significantly similar between the different Shapes and sizes of this heating belt. It’s fantastic when it works. It’s going to be larger than you think it is in terms of the length of the overall unit, but the actual heating pad is going to be smaller than what you think when you get it and you’ll wish you bought just the next larger size if you want something for a lower back, go with something the size you might get for your shoulder or thigh in terms of contact pad size
