Dal Rossi Italy L2061DR Silver/Titanium Chess Set on Carbon Fibre Shiny Finish Chess Box 20” with compartments

I got this as a centerpiece for my living room and it’s rather large (20” x 20”). They do make a smaller version, which I would have preferred, but that one folds in half for storage and doesn’t have the same feel as a solid board.The pieces have a great design, but they just feel like plastic (the description and pictures made me expect more of a metal feel). The pieces also came packed in a foam that you can cut and stick inside the board compartments so that they aren't just rolling around in there, which is a good idea. The board is also nice, but easily scratchable so be careful. I like the idea of being able to lock the pieces inside, but the lock they’ve put on this model almost feels cheap.For the price, I would say that you’re paying 50% for quality and 50% for name brand. I really like the overall design but expected higher quality for such a highly priced item.

The top of board had 2 scratches. $300+ board?!? This is plastic junk. I've seen better quality in a $20 chess set.
