Must-Have Resource for Teachers & Parents!
A large part of my job as an educational consultant is collaborating with teachers and students on executive functioning strategies. It's a challenge to find books that are reader friendly, and provide strategies that are easily implemented.I love this book! It's fun and easy to understand. It provides great strategies for building the practical life skills teens need for social and professional success. The authors did a wonderful job of considering the small, yet very important, skills teens need to learn; such as smiling or how to answer the telephone.I recommend this book so frequently that I've incorporated it into the resource section of my professional development presentations. A must-have resource for parents, teachers, or students on the Autism Spectrum or with ADHD!

Secret Weapon to help Teens Master Job Interviews and Get the Job
This Parent’s Guide is a must-have secret weapon to help your teen or young adult master job interviews and get, and keep, a job. The “Mock Job Interview” role-playing activities are very effective for building confidence and competency with all-important interviewing skills. As an instructor of customer service skills for business owners and their teams, one of my favorite chapters is “Deliver Amazing Customer Service” and the role-play activities that go along with it. Any teen who masters these skills will separate themselves from the competition and become a rising star in any job the undertake or business they start. Get this Parent’s Guide, have fun working through the exercises with your teen, and watch them transform into confident, competent and successful adults.

The Parent’s Guide for the Smile & Succeed for Teens book is a quick read and the graphics make it fun and interactive – I especially like the dress for success section. The book also includes tons of details to help teens get through their hard years. The guide includes things I wish I had had all in one place when I was at that stage in my life. Although the entire guide holds important activities and information, there are certain sections I found that would be most beneficial to a teen: the sample resume with an additional link for more samples, the professional electronic etiquette section (especially with the increasing use of digital platforms), as well as the social media tips!I definitely recommend Kirt Manecke’s Parent’s Guide. It would be a great resource for anyone trying to guide teens to succeed whether it is in school, at work, or at life in general.-- Nikkole Wyrabkiewicz

Our financial firm gives the parent guide and the Smile & Succeed for Teens book as gifts to clients with teenage children, and so far, the response has been great! They like that the content is very valuable, no matter what career path the teen ends up going down, and they like that these books teach teens everyday skills, such as how to interview or give a proper handshake. Overall, we highly recommend this book to any parents that want to give their children an extra edge above the competition, as it is sure to teach several important lessons through one quick, easy read!

The Parent’s Guide for Smile & Succeed for Teens is a great resource for parents to use to help prepare their young adult for a job interview, and to help them master job skills to excel at work. Many young people, especially those with autism and other special needs, learn best by doing. The role-playing exercises in this parent’s guide are especially effective. The sections on people skills, cell phone and social media etiquette, and overcoming stress and anxiety were especially helpful.
