Let's be honest, I'm a mom who has zero time or patience but I've taken up the hobby of candle and soap making and it's something I truly enjoy. To be fair, I've never made cold-pressed soap simply because I just don't have time, space or money to put toward [more] individual components. Some day I will but until then I'm perfectly happy working with melt and pour bases. I started out using bases from M****y and though very high quality they come with a price to match. Unfortunately they've been out of stock for months on the base I use for my product line so I've been forced to look for alternatives. I came across this brand who stock two bases that comprise one of my products, goat milk and shea butter. I wasn't sure what to expect, and to be honest I was quite apprehensive after reading a few unfavorable reviews. I took the chance anyway and am sooo glad I did! Not only is it half of how much my original base was for the same amount of product, but it's as equally easy to use. M****y did not list a recommended/ideal temperature for any of their melt and pour bases; although I didn't follow it for my first test bar I do appreciate that this brand provides one and will probably try it out for my next batch. I use the double boiler method to do my melting. I freaked out when my base blend melted down and turned into a goopy glob but remained patient and continued to heat it up until it finally completely liquified properly before adding my fragrance oil. It was a bit "bubbly/frothy" for what I'm used to in both liquified form and after hardening (tiny bubbles on "top" of the soap while still in the mold), but it took my fragrance oil very well and set without any sweating whatsoever. It lathers quite nicely with thick rich bubbles yet washes completely clean without feeling over-drying. It's worth mentioning that I have very very dry skin, live in a mountainous area where it's currently snowing, and occasionally have eczema flare ups. If I wash my entire body including my face, which is even more dry than the rest of my body, and don't apply lotion afterwards my skin still feels soft and moisturized just enough to not be ashy or crusty. I even tested it on a patch of eczema (I usually NEVER put any cleansers whatsoever on an active flare up) and was surprised that it actually improved it. I wouldn't say it made it go away per se, but the fact that the texture of that patch is almost back to normal rather than being as dry/crusty if not more so after using soap on it speaks volumes! Overall, I'm super happy with this newfound replacement, working with it as well as using it on my own body. Hell, I just might switch over and start using my own soaps rather than store-bought body washes. I hope this brand never runs out of stock or discontinues these bases!

Amazing product!
I am so happy with the way this soap turned out. In the instructions it says to do 8oz. I melted down 8oz almost all the way then I added another 8oz and melted that completely down. Then I added a .34oz bottle of PJs pumpkin pie fragrance oil. This made 3 large soap bars plus some scrap to keep for myself. It lathers really well and holds the fragrance. After doing this first batch I went much bigger and melted down 32oz all at once. This took longer and went through a marshmallow fluff sticky phase, but with stirring it a lot in 30 second intervals it melted down very well and I added in two bottles of PJs fragrance oil. This block has a soapy layer hardened on top but it can easily be trimmed off. The larger block should make 9 or 10 small/medium sized soap bars. In the future I would melt down only 8oz at a time and add more in as I go to prevent that soapy layer from forming on the top.

Beginner Friendly
This was my first time making soap and I was surprised by how easy it was!Pros:Easy to melt in microwaveEasy to mix in color & scentEasy to pour in molds and hold its shapeCons:Waxy lookKind of hard to cut down the large brick4 stars because of the waxy/plastic look and difficulty cutting whole brick down.

Very nice melt and pour soap with great ingredients
Great ingredients, great value for money, easy to use. You use it like any melt and pour soap base, except it may take a little longer to melt due to the difference in ingredients, i use 30 second bursts in my 1000 watt microwave and it works well. I do two 30 second bursts and that usually gets it, but if I cut the cubes a little too big I'll do 20 more seconds and stir it more once it's out. I would recommend cutting them a little smaller to aid in melting. After it's all done and you have your finished soap, it works just like any other base.
