Perfect for keeping heat out
These shades are perfect to keep the heat out. They also add a lot of darkness to any room. We used it on a huge window in our kitchen and it blocked the sun completely. I would recommend you use a utility knife or another straight blade to cut the panels. We used scissors and went crooked. Not only do I love the darkness these provide but I also love that they come with Velcro dots so that during winter we can have our windows open. Don’t be fooled by the thinness of them because they definitely have helped to keep heat out of our kitchen.

Sheets work well to block heat from sun and light weight.
No instructions on how to use velcro strips and white dots. But the black dots work well and the black sheets held well while splitting the fold in the middle. I have a RV 2 big windows where sun shines i had put up insulated curtains up wasn't enough. Big improvement on heat coming through. Can pull a corner away to look out and it sticks back in place fine. Shipping was quick and in good shape.

TWO WORDS - IT WORKS some tips
I put mine not INSIDE the window, but along the outsides. BIG TIP: CUT a little bigger than you'll think you'll need!I have not one, but TWO pair, of thermal curtains on my window, but of course light could get through the sides, the top. NOT ANYMORE!I leave mine up permanently. I keep my bedroom like a cave because my dog and cat see ANY light and it must be time to get up!ALSO my bedroom window gets blasted by the sun coming from the west and this helps keep my room cooler in summer and warmer in winter (I get my apt warm in winter, then turn the thermostat WAY down and just shut my bedroom door, stays warm enough even in cold Midwest winters, then in summer, I get it nice and cool, then turn it off or high so it won't click on at night and again, shut my bedroom door and it's dark and cool)ONLY CON: I wish the outside facing part wasn't so silver, I wanted to avoid the look of aluminum foil and this does look better than that, but not the prettiest. However, if you want something to keep out sun, this works.BOTTOMLINE: For the price and what it does, and I checked out SEVERAL before purchasing this one, I would get it again.
