These stair treads are awesome!! I can barely see them on the stairs and they do a fantastic job. I bought them so my dogs didn't slip and slide on the way down the stairs and they work perfectly! They are easy on the feet too. I love that they are clear. I had painted my stairs a faux marble and didn't want to cover up all my hard work. These fit the bill. Looking straight down you can barely see them and on an angle they are a bit "frosty". There is a bit of a "grit' to them but it doesn't tug at socks or hurt my feet or my dogs paws. They had no issue the first time I put them down. I could tell they could feel something different, but it didn't bother them. They were always so cautious going up or down the stairs...now they fly down! The backing comes off easily and when first applying and you get it wrong, you can lift them up again and re set them with no worries of it damaging the stair. My concern was that I had painted and varnished the marble look and if I didn't get them down right the first time they would tear up all my work. But they didn't.. These treads are truly great...don't hesitate to buy them.

I installed hardwood stairs treads in my entryway and was afraid my dogs nails might scratch them up. I looked all over for clear stair tread protectors and eventually decided on these. They're practically invisible. Adding these have also made it much easier for my dog to get up and down the stairs. I'm definitely going to be using these on my other staircase once I refinish it.2/25/19-UPDATE:I'm knocking one star off because they are very hard to clean if they get muddy. I've actually found it's easier to just let the mud dry first. Once it's dry, vacuum off what you can. Afterwards, use a damp rag to get the rest of it.

The treads themselves are great. I made a template from cardboard so the positioning is identical on each step. They go down easily and can be peeled up again if necessary for repositioning. The adhesive is strong, these aren't going to move in use. They don't show on our light colored wood steps unless the light catches them at the right angle, then they look frosty. They eliminate slipping especially when going down wearing only socks. The treads are clear, textured, and are thick enough to be tough. The texture isn't gritty. The adhesive seems ideal. I think they will last a long time. They come rolled in the package but they don't have memory so they are completely flat once the backing paper is removed.Count your stairs, though. I have 15 stairs. They supply 14 treads. I was away from home when I ordered them so I ordered without counting steps. Now I must figure out which step I plan to skip, whether I want to cut one to use on 2 steps, or whether to order another package to get the one tread. This is one of the more expensive packages so they might have included just one more. I dinged them a star for having too few for what I think is probably a standard staircase. Maybe I'm being unfair, they plainly say there are 14 treads. It is my fault for assuming they supply enough for a whole home staircase. Still, at $41.99, there should be enough for an entire staircase.Placement: They are easy to place. I scrubbed each step with a paper towel moistened with plain water, then dried with a dry paper towel, then ran my hand over the placement area to confirm no grit was present. I did not use a roller. With dark stairs a roller would probably be a good idea. I didn't have issues with bubbles, the tread is stiff enough to go down well yet flexible enough that you can pull them a bit as you put them down.

Our little yorkiepoo would try to run up and down the stairs and fell quite a few times. Eventually she would run up the stairs and cry for us to come and get her. I HAD to find a solution! I ended up finding these and doing a lot of research on them because I didn't want to spend money on something that wasn't efficient. These work great. they are easy to apply to the stairs, and I made a few mistakes so I had to peel off and put them back on, and it didn't damage my stairs either. Now we all feel a little safer walking down the stairs but even better, our dog now is able to roam freely around the house without any accidents!

These treads are great. We had a slippery wood spiral staircase and our dog had gotten afraid to descent the stairs because of a lack of traction. We've had these installed for a couple months and they are great - not only for the dog, who now goes down the stairs with confidence, but also for us. I can walk down the stairs in socks now without fear of slipping!The tread material has a very strong adhesive - I've only had them down about 2 months but I've seen no signs of the edges peeling up. While strong, the adhesive can be pulled back when you are first applying them if you need to reposition a bit or eliminate an air bubble. I cleaned each stair with rubbing alcohol and then used a hard rubber roller to make sure the adhesive was firmly stuck to the wood stair tread.The pattern is great - it is a matte texture that grips your feet, shoes, etc. but it is not rough on bare skin, and doesn't pull on fabrics.Also great customer service from Pure Sienna - I liked these so much I ordered a second box and one of the treads had a small issue with the paper backing not releasing (just one tread out of 2 boxes had the issue so probably a fluke). Pure Sienna was extremely fast at responding to my issue and shipped me a replacement right away. 5 star product with 5 star service.

My dad and I were constantly slipping down our hard wood floor stairs. I had to fix the problem but I had no idea these things existed! I wish I had bought these months ago. They are perfect and do not have a sandy grit on top. The reason these are a little bit pricy is because they are precut and the top of them is rough but not gritty. These are perfect for indoor use. They do ruin the wood underneath and are hardly noticeable. TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY.
