I have both the CAU Cheer Captain doll Alyssa and the Homecoming Queen Nicole doll (the latter purchased off of eBay but pics posted here so if someone is on the fence, they know what she looks like). They’ve got silky smooth hair, and are very sturdily built with nice legs, arms, and a plastic torso. They’re constructed like AG’s Wellie Wishers in that respect but with a more durable plastic. This company was started by a woman who wanted to celebrate the “magic” and allure of the historically black colleges and universities in the US. They’re based in Plano, TX, and are owned by an African American female entrepreneur so you can win three times by supporting this company. The HBCyoU dolls are a more affordable version of the Healthy Roots dolls but just as important and just as important for diversification of your toy box.

I bought this lil lady for my granddaughter. She wanted American Girl, but there weren’t many options for brown girls. I came across this cutie (Alexis) and ordered her. She is 18 inch’s with the beautiful cheerleading outfit, fit is perfect Her hair is super soft and beautiful. Good value for the money, and nice quality.
