Easy to use Crutches

Sturdy, comfortable, easily adjustable. The only complaint is the grips get a little hard on the hands if walking a long distance. These are much easier to use than the standard hospital issue crutches.

Worth it, they’ve helped a lot.

They work well! I like the forearm rest, it’s comfortable. I will say though that I have to keep re-tightening the screws towards the bottom or they made a clicking sound more like underarm crutches. It’s not very loud, and when they are tightened, they’re completely silent, but I’ve been trying to figure out a way to keep them tightened. You’ll probably need a hand grip too, there are lots of options, I got the Vive grips, but I would suggest something that secured to the back because they tend to slip forward and you have to keep adjusting them every few steps. But otherwise, they work well! They’ve helped my pain SOO much, and the price isn’t bad.

Life changing. Nearly a year of use!

As someone with a connective tissue disorder, all my joints dislocate multiple times a day. I deteriorated to the point walking outside of my own home became dangerous. I started using my wheelchair anytime I left the house. It gave me freedom back to some extent but I was trapped in the chair. Normal (auxiliary) crutches were not an option due to the pain and dislocations I experienced in my upper body, the lack of stability, and inconvenience of their size. I researched forearm crutches and I decided to buy a pair. The very fancy crutches wouldn't be in stock for another few months and I bought this pair until then. It's been life changing. I walk upright with these as compared to normal crutches, no hunching over. There's barely any pain in my upper body from using these, only my palms hurt after extended use. I've been able to move freely and confidently with less pain! I even went through grocery shopping entirely on these crutches. They are sturdy, sleek, and functional. I cannot recommend these more.Additional notes: Anyone under 5' might want to reconsider using these as I at 5' could only adjust these just small enough for me! Adding a strap between the holes might be a good option so you can use your hands without dropping the crutch or finding a place to set it down. Mine is made of duct tape shown in the images I provided. Another consideration is that it takes a little bit to get used to using another form of mobility aid and that there a learning curve.Edit after long use:The reflecter peices come off with man handling, but this does not effect the main functionality of the crutches (mobility). The tips wear out fairly quickly with weight bearing. I weigh 115, so if youre heavier, they would wear out even faster. I recommend "Tornado crutch tips" to replace them with. They add SO much grip and some shock absorbsion, which is amazing. They last ages, I've used my crutches near daily for 10 months and the tornado tips barely show any signs of wear. Even grips okay on ice, but ice spike tips would be better if youre going to be doing lots of crutching on ice.You might consider adding padding to the handles for more palm comfort. I have found I don't need it and prefer the plastic, but there are tons of covers made for crutch grips, I'd recommend looking on amazon or etsy for them.

Caution: not a universal grip

I bought these crutches in preparation for my ankle surgery. They were easily adjusted for my height. To use this style of crutches, you have to have the upper body strength to support your body or be able to use them when your lower extremity can partially bear weight; as such, their ease of use varies. The hand grips are made of hard plastic, so I recommend a grip cover for comfort. They are also molded for left and right hands though neither is labeled such.

Immediately relieved my lower back pain/tightness.

Under "Frequently bought together" is a suggestion to buy rubber walker cane tips with metal inserts. Those inserts are basically washers to stop the legs/tubes from destroying the rubber tip. Does that mean the original tips are inferior? This is probably the most common complaint and lesser rating score for these crutches. Photos and complaints show the problem. But upon inspection of my rubber tips, there appear to be metal inserts. But are they 3/4" , enough to protect the tips? A critical review from Feb 2020. just before I bought mine, show the problem.I also purchased VIVE Quad Rubber Replacement Footpads for better traction. Inpection shows they MIGHT have metal inserts, but there appears to be a rubber coating over 'something'.The great thing about these forearm crutches is they immediately eliminated my lower back tightness/pain which I experienced usng two Hurrycane crutches. ( I used Hurrycane because I have a bad leg/hip and need two of them get around.) This alone would justify the purchase. Also, they are VERY comfortable just standing up and not moving, using them to rest my body. I wish I had found them years ago. It was just by coincidence looking for foldable crutches.I recommend them, based on the overall ergonomics and increased comfort and stabiltiy compared to Hurrycane. Also, the priced is competitive: Two Hurrycanes at $32.95 eaxh plus tax= ~$66.00, These crutches @ $49.95 and two Quad pads @ 12.99 each plus tax = ~$76.00However, if the tips wear quickly because the metal inserts do not solve the known problem, then shame on VIVE for letting it continue. Use a bigger insert....
