The absolute best kids book for History buffs
If you're a history nerd and want your kids to become one too, this is the book for you. Such a cool book before bedtime. My sons at the curious age where he asks about everything, and it's actually a lot of fun explaining what the pyramids, the nile, or the sphinx is. The quality of the book is also exceptional and has endured my kids constant poking, pulling, and prodding which is pretty much a guarantee to happen because it's a popup book. This is also a cool feature because it makes it that much more engaging for the little ones. Really great idea, hope they make more.

Fun way to learn about Ancient Egypt
This is a fun "poster style" fact book about ancient Egypt. If you have a child that is very interested in ancient Egypt, I would definitely recommend it! If your child already has a lot of books on ancient Egypt, then you may juat want to pass on it. Obviously all this information can be found in other books. What makes this book different than others, is the fact that each page opens up into a big poster with maps and all kind of fun facts and information. There are six sections in total: Ancient Egypt, Treasures of Egypt, Temple of the Gods, Egyptian Pyramids, Sights in Giza, and Mummification. There are two pages and a poster dedicated to each section. I think the illustrations are visually appealing and easily keep the attention of a six year old. I do recommend adding book tape to the page creases just to lengthen the longivity at the book. You also need to make sure the book is laying flat BEFORE opening or folding up each poster. If you don't have the book completely flat, you will damage the pages! This is something you may want to think about if you are planning on getting this for a younger child. Overall.. I think the book is very nice and I am happy with it!

A Kid-Friendly Book About Ancient Egypt Will Inspire Conversations And Future Visits To The Library
Ancient Egypt For Kids by Oldrich Ruzicka and Illustrated by Tomas Tuma is a kid-friendly book to learn about Ancient Egypt. The book discusses Daily Life in Ancient Egypt, Treasures of Egypt, Temples of the Gods, Luxor Temple, Egyptian Pyramids, Sights in Giza, Mummification, and the Temple of the Kings. Each piece of information is accompanied by an illustration and distinguished by a colored background. The unique detail of the book is that each pair of pages unfolds into a large page made up of four pages that is reminiscent of a paper map from years ago. The pages are a thicker quality which can handle the constant unfolding. My kiddos were fascinated with the pyramids section. There was a brief description of how they were made, a short list of different pyramids, and a highlight of how the obelisk was raised. Multiple topics inspired conversations and a desire to go to the library to learn more by checking out additional books. It's an approachable and fun way to learn history and one that my kids really enjoyed. This book has been re-read countless times and has motivated my family to look for additional books in this series.

Kind of text-booky actually
I'm trying to remember an age where I would have been interested in this. I'd guess 12-13? This is kind of an advanced book to read even as an older kid. It's kind of text-booky. You fold out the pages so it's like a series of posters, but there's also a lot of text. It's kind of dense with information. Great if you're already an Egypt nut but probably won't foster a great love of Egypt otherwise. The quality is good and I imagine this could be a fun book to have on a coffee table or something like that. 5 stars, but this is definitely not for elementary aged children. The text to picture ratio is rather high and if the topic were dinosaurs or something I could see this skewing younger. But as it is, probably best for middle schoolers or older.

Covers a lot of material but not very well
Ancient Egypt for Kids (Unfolding the Past, 1) covers a vast amount of material but not very well. I pre read books that I plan to share with young people in my life. I started reading this book and found the information to be vague and in some areas strange or even misleading. To give examples I have uploaded some photos. One sentence and a strange cartoon on agriculture. No explanation of what the Rosetta Stone is, just how it was found. And I do not think we can state that the tens of thousands of workers were well paid. I will look for a better reference book for the young people in my life.

Nice little history fact book for kids
It took me a few minutes to figure out how the pages in this book work. Basically, each spread is a fold-out poster comprising 4 regular pages. Each poster section deals with one facet of ancient Egyptian life. The facts are presented in little self-contained bites that don’t really follow a continuing story, but this isn’t really a negative, as the target audience for this book probably isn’t going to be ready for more than a little bit of information at a time anyway. The book is very colorful with lots of illustrations, which should pique the interest of kids into learning more about ancient Egypt. I plan on using this to entertain my grandkids when they come over and I can see them becoming fascinated with Egyptian history after reading this book. The book is a translation from another language, and I did find one or two grammatical/spelling errors that you’ll want to be aware of so your kids don’t learn the wrong spelling. Other than that, though, the book is a pretty nice historical introduction for young children.
