Great idea, Good Book
Good character building and interesting story. I was almost half way through before the book got interesting. There could have been much more detail regarding the interaction between the two antagonists. This was a lost opportunity. A lot of tiny details that were interesting that could have leant greater richness to the story instead of focusing on beach visits.

Excellent Second Read!
Good book. This was my second reading of The Web. I was very intriguing! I love the twist and turns. The narrative was very picturesque and I could feel the tropical climit!

I've always loved J Kellerman.
He writes with grace, intellect and vivid imagination. This book will not disappoint. I've read most of his books, as well as those by his lovely wife and son. All well written and engaging. I, too am a "shrink" and I appreciate his weaving of his psych craft into mystery and mayhem. I also love his vocabulary. I had to "google" a couple of words from the book for definitions. That is no longer a common practice for me, and I delight in being challenged in that manner. Thank you, Mr Kellerman for many hours of suspense, intrigue, served with a generous modicum of humor.

Not his best
Although I usually enjoy Kellerman's books, this one wasn't his best. I will continue reading his books and especially his excellent Alex Delaware series.

Terrible Things
This is not your usual Alex Delaware novel. He is out of his familiar environment and is on a tropical island with Robin. He is lured there on the pretext of a well paid working vacation. Of course all is not as advertised. The island is filled with strong, well developed characters. Most are not who initially appear to be.There is plenty of mystery, intrigue and action. I think you will like this one.

Where’s Milo?!
Interesting but I really missed Milo in this one! Storyline was good but kind of weird. On to the next one in the series.

What a plot!
Twists and turns that were totally unexpected. Good escape from the streets of LA. Sure do like these characters and look forward to the next book.

The Web: An Alex Delaware novel
Great novel.Although if I had been aware of all the entomology (bugs) involved in the story l most likely would no have read it. I am very squeamish where bugs , are concerned. Now I am pleased to have read the story. It was very interesting and didn't trouble me in the least bit.I will have to say I have enjoyed everything Jonathon Kellerman has written. And the Alex Delaware series are the Best.

An interesting tale but not the best in the series thus far
The WebJonathan Kellerman’s tenth book featuring Psychologist Alex Delaware. Slightly different in its content this time in that it is set away from Los Angeles and regular character Detective Milo Sturgis is very much on the periphery of this particular adventure. Both Delaware and his long-time partner Robyn Castagnia are on the island of Arak which is an American island territory in Micronesia found in the Western Pacific. The island is a tropical paradise and they are the guests of a local doctor who has spent most of his life there. However beneath the idyllic surface all is not well. The US base there has cut itself off from the rest of the island and there are concerns that they may be going to close the base in the near future. The island economy is practically non-existent and there is a growing public belief that their host is not doing all that he might to alleviate the islands situation.Delaware discovers soon after their arrival that a brutal unsolved murder took place there some months previously. Locals believe it may have been a sailor from the base. However a second murder takes place and by this time the base has withdrawn from island life. Delaware and Robyn along with residents also staying at the doctors home soon find themselves under house arrest to ensure their safety against a particularly volatile population. Both Delaware and Robyn with Milo’s long distance assistance soon discover that the island and the doctor’s history does not stand up to scrutiny. An unscrupulous US Senator and an imported journalist serve to confuse matters even further. An interesting tale but not the best in the series thus far. Milo’s diminished role leaves a vacuum that Castagna is unable to fill completely. It is good that Kellerman has been able to develop that character further but the consequent reduction in the Sturgis character has not been a price worth payingStill worth a look though.

Jonathan Kellerman - The Web
In this, the 10th book featuring Los Angeles based psychiatrist Alex Delaware we catch up with him as he sets off to a small, sparsely populated Micronesian island named Aruk to work alongside the island's patriarchal nominal power Dr William Moreland who is in help of bringing order to his vast volumes of research on the island. Alex and Robin's stay on the island begins with the couple relaxing in the beautiful locale and this provides a nice break from the smog of Kellerman's usual LA. Soon enough though things take a turn for the strange, beginning with a few of the locals acting with slight hostility, then when Delaware sees the kind of work he'll be collaborating on with Moreland he starts to become even more skeptical of the isle. The cases involve a few of the locals suffering from strange hallucinations and behavioral breakdowns, this teemed with the fact that there's a strong, yet slightly mysterious, military presence on the other side of the island makes for a rather atmospheric read.As I've said, this edition is a nice break for the series, Kellerman allows us to immerse fully into the local culture of Aruk and its inhabitants and it is a true treat to read. However the mystery side of the story is slightly lagging, although it is enjoyable I feel the book could have been bettered had Kellerman spent more time developing all the story lines, but at only 400 pages 'The Web' seems slightly short. Overall this is a pretty good book, while I wouldn't recommend it have you not read Kellerman before, however as part of the series it works well. That said, I'm looking forward to getting back to LA for the next installment in the series: The Clinic . The Clinic

Only Read If You Are Trying to Read the Whole Set
I really enjoy this author, and am working my way through the series. I usually find I cannot put them down. However, this one I could put down quite easily. Set on an island, it's almost as tedious as being forced to sit through a neighbour's holiday photos. Nothing much happens until half way in (literally - 50% as I read it on a Kindle), when it perks up a little. But this doesn't last and I found myself quite unable to suspend my disbelief. I felt disappointed and if this had been the first Alex Delaware I had read, I would never have read another. Only read this one if you are intent on reading the whole set.

Very different paradise
A Great and very different storyline. Woven with care and pace. Kellerman always delivers but this is a nice change and nothing like his previous books

Disappointed in this story!!
I love Jonathan Kellerman's books but did not enjoy this one Very different to his other novels. Too much about Alex & Robin and not enough of about Sturgis. A sad, miserable tale with no redeeming features. Sorry Jonathan. But this will not stop reading more of your books, and even re-reading many others!!
