SEADOG Garboard Captive Drain & Plug SS

I had a square headed bronze garboard plug that requires a wrench to remove on My Sea Hunt; replaced it with this so that I can drain the bilge without needing a wrench after pulling it out of the water. Much more convenient So far its worked excellently with no leaks after being in the water overnight once or twice. Holes did not match up so I had to fill old ones/drill new ones, but not a big deal with some fast drying epoxy for the hole filling and some 24 hour 3M 4200 for the seal. Great 2-3 beer project :)

Love it. No more looking for wrench and alway make sure to carry one. I should have installed this from the start. It align perfect with the standard garb drain. So no need to drill new hole.

What an excellent product to enhance the difficult to reach drain plug on my Yamaha boat. It does not need to be tightened as much since the o-ring does the sealing. It makes the draining operation much quicker and you do not risk loosing the plug. The center can be removed completely by continuing to unthread the plug once it has passed the center region. It has not rattled out while trailering in open position.The screw holes did not line up perfectly with the old holes because it is replacing an off-brand drain plug used by the manufacturer. No problem offsetting the hole pattern and redrilling new holes. Excellent product.

I used these as replacement drain plugs on my boat. The previous style installed on the boat were brass that had to be stored in the leaning post once removed. These are much more convenient as they stay in place when unscrewed.The hole diameter needed for the SeaDog plugs was slightly larger than the previous plugs but with a dremel tool and sanding bit they were easily adapted. They even had the same screw hole diameter and pattern.

Nice well built item. Too bad we can't purchase the round ones in Canada. The oval ones we could purchase would not have worked to repair my boat. Prompt shipping.
