We use these in my small group and they are always good to get ideas starting that later snowball into great conversation. I gave it four stars though because ESV seems to neglect the idea that though Job was righteous through the Law, and even through God’s eyes, he was lacking in the most important idea of Christianity, which is fellowship/walking with God (and now Jesus). I think this is a pretty crucial idea in how it contributes to the ideas of the New Testament and the overall story of the Bible, and it branches out into a lot of fascinating conversations about God’s character and the evolution of the Hebrew/Jewish people throughout the Old Testament. Anyways our small group ended up talking about that anyways but some of the questions ended up being a little bland or easily answered. We still use the ESV study guides for our small group so its worth at least 4 stars.

The info in the book is solid, but the questions for the learners are lacking.
