Do Not Let It Get Wet!
Well, I liked the idea of the safeguard in the back. Although it IS difficult to see exactly how much nail is protruding past where the blades meet. As far as cutting effectiveness (the most important thing to me), compared to other clippers I’ve had/used, I was underwhelmed to say the least. They didn’t give a clean/crisp snip of the nail causing me to have to go back to the same nail. I was just disappointed in the purchase. Price was good but, quality isn’t there. I didn’t like them before they got wet. Then, I cleaned them & they laid on a towel by the sink & didn’t dry quickly so they rusted slightly. Once they rusted, I went to clean them with WD40 to rid them of rust.I disassembled them, cleaned them (thought they were supposed to be rustproof?) & put them back together.DESPITE putting tightening back together several different times/ways (& I never took the clippers completely apart only loosened screw to clean rusty cutting edge), I couldn’t ever get them to snip correctly again! They were trying to “gnaw” their way through the nail making it split & possibly making me hurt my dog. So into the trash they went. There’s too many other similar but better products out there to save money on something like THIS!

WOW. So easy. Makes it more difficult to cut into quick
Amazing wonderful and easy to use. Get your dog used to these at the earliest age possible. As soon as you get your dog allow your dog to play with these while they're in your hand. Rub them all over your dog's hair and even allow your dog to nibble on the handles. Your dog realizes they're not something to be fearful of and thinks of them as a toy. Basically your socializing the dog to the item. Then when the dog is older and you have to actually cut the dog's nails the dog is useto them. He or she will wiggle this and it will make it much easier on you. Such valuable information. I followed is the boss on one dog and we can do his nails easily. The other dog just won't have it so he goes to the groomers and that cost a lot of money. If only someone had told me that 17 years ago. That dog is 17 years old and here's a picture of him. The small dog allows me to cut his nails and the bigger dog does not. The bigger dog does not look that fantastic but please keep in mind he's 17 years old and is basically skin and bones even though we cook for him personally. We have done everything in our power to make them healthy and he is a healthy 17 year old. I think that's like 90 something in human years.

Great deal
Excellent price point for the clippers and file. The clippers work quite well, and are not flimsy. They are also tight; meaning no loose fitting screws, so nothing moves around when using them on your dog’s paw claws! The grip also helps prevent your hand from slipping, and the little safety is securely in place to help prevent you from over-clipping. My only critique is that I wish the file worked a little bit better to smooth out the nail after clipping. Otherwise I highly recommend this!

Works well.
Clippers work well, I like the little guard thing, he helps when my dog is so scared of this thing that I can rely on it not to go too deep. File works well too, my pooch actually likes having her nails filed, it helps to soothe her between stressful clipping.

Couldn't trim our Shepherd's nails :(
We just tried to use these last night on our Shepherd and it didn't even make a dint in his nails. Disappointing. We will be purchasing a different kind.

Cheap
Too flimsy to use on my small dog. It buckled in my hand a few times.
