High quality anchovies!
These are almost as good as the ones you can get in Spain. Loved them!

Terrible taste
The taste is bitter and overly salty; it's completely inedible. Most anchovies costing twice less - taste much better with greater delicacy of taste and less saltiness. The unpleasant taste of brine dominates.

Too expensive
Too expensive, is not worth it.

Great flavor, practically melted into sauce
These are excellent for pasta puttanesca. They practically melt in the pan.The can I received was full of perfect anchovies, carefully arranged and packed in good oil. These are the best I have had.I have often used anchovy paste, but this was so much better. (I had some left over- they were amazing on a pepperoni pizza the next day.)They are layered with paper between them, so they are easy to take out of the can.I highly recommend them and will buy them again as my budget can allow.

An interesting experience
Wow, this stuff is expensive! It’s basically the caviar of sardines. I love sardines and anchovies, so I had to try this product out.My favorite brand of sardines I eat regularly is Polar Brisling. I bring this up because they have a clear top to display the great quality and small sardines inside. I thought that presentation was super cool, but the sleek black can for these El Capricho sardines is much cooler. Of course, they are also more almost 10x the cost so they better look the part! How do super expensive achovies taste? Well, salty. This can contains small strips/fillets that are absolutely swimming in oil. I tried one fillet by itself and it was pleasantly chewy, almost creamy, but so very salty.Next step was to try it with something complimentary. I placed several fillets on some nice, thick toast. The powerful flavor of this product was a great match and the overall chewiness was wonderful. I tried a sardine from Brisling on toast for general comparison. The El Capricho anchovies were definitely more tasty. Finally, I tried them with some rice. This was not as good, as the rice was too neutral and the anchovies are just overpowering. So, are these worth the price? Sadly, not for me. I’m happy to have experienced such a luxury product, but I won’t be buying more anytime soon. For more info on the Amazon Vine program, check the official page https://www.amazon.com/vine/about
