Nine City Ultra Bright 5 LED Hands Free Unisex Lighted Beanie Cap/Hat Power (Yellow/Orange)

After a week+ of testing the product for different night time applications. Well, I had to get one for my mother back home in the country. The time I tested this although it is a nightly wear if I'm going out here in L.A. I used it mostly for getting up and down the dangerously unlit stairs at my apartment,rummaging in the car,getting down my loft stairs without bugging my roommate and not getting hit by cars going down my steet walking home. I also used it for late night hand tasks like drawing and sewing. It's a bright light with a reasonably good range that you can aim,angle and point by tilting your head. My Mom doesn't always have hands free to deal with carrying a flashlight back home,hates headlamps so itnseemed like a brilliant idea for her. She takes a lot of wintertime spills and falls and really being able to send her something that helps her stay a lil safer and warmer? A lot off my mind there. East Tennessee has some rough,dark winters and its almost guaranteed that the power will be out every year in her area. The beanie is soft enough we both have sensitive skin. It would be a bit large on a kid fit wise. I have a petite head so eh it's a lil snowbunnied on me. Only product improvement suggestion I have in relation to this beanie the elastic holder for the battery pack could be attached with Velcro so you can move the pack more for better light adjustment. That way us wee people can roll the brim up a lil more. The lights on this beanie are true white and I had a good visibility range comparable to a good handheld flashlight.

I purchased this as a gift for a runner friend and it is perfect! The fabric is sufficient to keep your head warm but is very lightweight. The color is perfect for early morning runs and the LED light is ideal for lighting the way without having to lug along a flashlight. The on/off switch is incredibly easy to use and I love that it takes batteries and so doesn’t require charging.Overall, this fits great and is a wonderful safety hat for runners and I certainly recommend it.

The hat is too small for an adult head - fits like a tight skull cap. Very uncomfortable. The LED is too bright and only aimed straight, so it blinds anyone you may look at. The button to turn the light on and off is too difficult to maneuver, especially in gloves. Other hats like this have a simple push button that is easy to turn on/off. If you want a real functioning hat with headlights, spend more to get better quality. This one is more for kids.

Nice feature of the hat is to keep warm and see at night and be seen at night. The switch is somewhat weak, but for the money it works and does the job. I haven't had it long enough to rate the battery but so far so good. The connector and wire harness is also fairly thin and fragile. I did have issues with the tightness and connections causing the light to flicker as I walked. I played with the connector and got it to click in tight and hold. I am a bit concerned on wire connection integrity, but time will tell.Well, this is a continuation of the purchase of this lighted Beanie. As I stated earlier in this post; I suspected the wires and connection were fragile. It so happened that the wire from the battery to the light is soldered on (it appears) and broke loose. Unfortunately it was a weak point in the construction of the battery pack and light. It is near impossible to re-solder the wire back on to the light thus rendering the light and hat feature useless for it's intended purpose. The idea and concept is a great feature. I've bought another hat with the same feature from another company and it has been working fine and has continued on with it life. I wish the company (Nine City) would consider replacing this defective piece to show their integrity and maybe look into their design and manufacture it more robustly.Still upset that my hat(s) were not replaced. I purchased 3 hats all together, for myself, son and son in law. All 3 the wires came undone and battery pack was faulty and cheap and unreliable. Don't order from this company.

save your money. there is no place to put a battery and they said 2 batteries would come with but, no such thing.

We have not used them for skiing yet but they seem to put off a good amount of light and will most definitely make it easier to spot the kids when it's getting dark.

Picture shows orange but it is yellow. Took longer to get than posted. Wasnt legal to use for hunting as yellow. Tiny switch on light mau break. Bright light. Hat isnt huge but is nice to carry in a pocket. I would buy if not wanting orange
