Works great, love the design
I would buy this design again, I love the thought they put in. I bought the 18 lb version for a 20 foot boat, and it's probably overkill honestly. I think the design is great, I haven't had much experience with it yet, but the way the ring will move from the front of the anchor to the back should allow me to "un-stick" the anchor in many settings - I was prepared to drill out holes and setup a cheaper anchor to do this, but I love that this is already designed to allow lots of angles as you pull the cord to retrieve. I paired this with 6 foot of chain, which is also overkill for my boat I think, now that I've used it a few times. It's a bit more bulky than I'd like, to the point that even the weight alone keeps my boat in place (which for anyone new to this, that's not how this style of anchor should work, you can go lighter and let it dig into the lake/river bed). I'd probably do 4 or 6 feet of chain with the lighter anchor for such a small boat next time (meaning lighter than 18 pound anchor). Vinyl coating is great. Works great, will buy again if needed.

EXCELLENT Anchor
We are using this with 21ft pontoon. We used to either get horribly hung up, or our anchor would slide around on the muddy river bottom, even when using 2 anchors. With this anchor, we easily stay anchored. I highly recommend.

Heavily corroded after one season.
I had really high expectations for this one, but I have been shocked to see how badly it has begun to corrode after only a few months of use. The anchor works fantastically, but is not holding up to the elements. Update: Raising from 1 star to 4 stars. The MFG reached out to me based on my review and sent me a new anchor. New one has not yet rusted so perhaps the material was bad on my 1st one?

Solid anchoring
Almost any anchor will work in a lake or pond. My issue was finding something that worked in very fast current. I have tried sand anchors, mushroom anchors, navy anchors up 25 lbs and none would hold in the high speed current in the river I usually fish. The bottom of this river varies from mud to sand to gravel and rock and nothing was reliable. This anchor has held on ever type of bottom in VERY swift current. The only time it came loose was in a rising river situation where a log about 10 feet long and about 8 inches diameter rode the anchor line and broke it loose.

Great anchor
HEAVY anchor for the size. It will grab anything and everything you drop it into. Awesome design. Have not had to worry about dragging at all with this thing…rocks, sand, clay, anything.

Boat Anchor
Works as it should

Works better than my previous anchor.
If you are a fisherman, you already know that you will have more success in the wind, when there are little waves on the water. But those are exactly the kinds of conditions that will dislodge and drag a lighter anchor, and blow your boat all over the place. This anchor holds better, yet is light enough to hoist. Consider getting two, one for the bow, one for the stern. Good luck.

Good dead weight plus “spikes” that fig in to lake bottom for good secure hold.
