Cat Water Bowl - For Messy Cats
I bought this for my two cats to prevent water spillage. They love to splash water and tip over bowls. My cats immediately learned to drink from this water bowl but the opening is too small. I wanted to encourage more drinking so I took a drill and widen the hole. Now it's easier for my cats to drink more water without splashing water around. Not all cats will drink from this bowl. It helps to replace the old bowl and allow the cats to drink from the new bowl (without green top) for several days. Add the green top and the cats should know to drink from it.

Very satisfied customer!
I have two dogs. One of them is an incredibly sloppy drinker and will slosh water ALL over the floor. The second dog is an older girl who has diabetes insipidus and an extremely increased thirst level. She drinks a LOT and it had become a problem because she would drink so much she would puke. This bowl has solved the issues with both dogs. Very satisfied customer!

One problem that needs fixing
Update** so we figured out that you can use the insert in a regular 3 gallon water system... the kind that holds a refillable water bottle on top... awesome because my dogs drink a lot of water and this little insert keeps them from drinking too fast! However, I just docked it a star because I was washing the insert and it sealed shut WITH WATER INSIDE! I tried to pry it open but I couldn't, I cant put it back in my dogs water dish... it has soapy water sealed inside it... A. I fear it will leak into their water or B. That seems like a great spot for mold or other bacteria to grow...Love this bowl!... I have purchased many different dog bowls in the last couple of year, even the expensive fountains and haven't found one that I liked as much as this one! It really does what it says... I have a dog with digestive problems so he tends to drink water and throw it back up (even if he doesn't drink a lot)... haven't had that problem since we got this bowl! Dirt and fur in the water... sinks to the bottom and they don't drink it because the green thing keeps it from getting in their mouths! Our puppy was constantly digging water out of the previous bowl making a HUGE mess... now he doesn't even try to play in it! My only complaint is that I wish it was bigger... with 3 dogs it feels like we're constantly having to refill it... otherwise I love it!

Great!
My persian cats love dipping their face in water when they drink, getting both their face and chest soaked, and all together getting really sloppy. We'd wipe them off but then two minutes later they'd do it again--- I swear it's because they learned that it's enjoyable to get their faces soaked and be wiped by mommy LOLFrom the advice of others, we've tried a hamster water bottle system but it just felt like it wasn't giving them enough water so we stopped after one day.We decided to dismiss the idea of stopping them from getting their scruffs wet and thought "hey, at least they're healthy" even if they didn't look their best LOL but then stuff began to grow on their chests and not even a bath every week and constant monitoring of wiping them whenever we saw them get wet was able to remove it!So I searched far and wide and found this awesome contraption! My cats love it, Leo loves sitting his head on the edge as he drinks and others like messing around with the plate with their paws to see the water move, they all know how to use it properly (i saw it!) and no more wet scruffs and dirty maines immediately! This was so awesome, we're buying it for my big little boy Franky (a big o' mutt) so that he too can enjoy the benefits of a clean Maine (not as bad of course!)

Meh...Pricey considering...not great for large dogs
I have large dogs...all 80lbs and up. At first, I thought this item was great. The dogs would drink from it and leave very little water on the floor. Then....they became acclimated to it. Now, they're just pushing the plate down harder when they drink and I'm back to having a towel nearby and worrying about warping the floor. It does work better than an open bowl though. The quality is on the cheap side. It's very light plastic...origin unknown. The bowl is definitely pricey considering the materials used.Follow up 4/7/18: The vendor contacted me and apologized for this bowl not fitting with my larger dogs. I was offered a refund, which was nice but not necessary. I'm keeping the bowl and as mentioned previously, it's better than a plain, open bowl. I'm just offering some honest feedback and realistic expectations here. In addition, I'm not a fan of bribes for a better review and a refund for a better review is just that. Not going to happen. With that being said....Don't expect the bowl to keep water off the floor, especially with larger dogs. It will slow them down and greatly reduce the cleanup, probably by 50% or more. If you have Great Dane or Mastiff and they leave a ton of water on the floor normally, this bowl will help but you may still have a 1/2 of a ton of water on the floor versus a ton :-). As for the materials, it's light, molded plastic. Overall this concept is a very smart idea. There are areas to improve on...My preference is a better material, like ceramic. I would pay more for quality. I appreciate the vender for reaching out.

This Works Brilliantly!
This is an amazing simply solution to a compound problem. It works brilliantly. My dog, Sophie, was quickly regurgitating any water almost immediately after consuming it. I tried to give her less water, nonetheless she would go but down in huge amounts. With this solution she is forced to lap significantly smaller amounts of water and thus is much less likely to regurgitate it, if at all. It worked brilliantly for Sophie.

Amazing product. No wet dog beard!
Amazing product. We tried another product but our dog just tried chewing on it to get to the water faster. This one took about 1 min for our Airedale Terrier to figure out. This is the first one to keep her beard dry while letting her get max water output. It also stays very very clean and is easy to see when the water is low. I had to push down on it a couple times to show her there was water.
