This set has exceeded my expectations! All of the brushes are extremely responsive (so easy to control with predictable results) and spring back nicely. They hold plenty of water too and are very well made. The big surprise was the triangular petal brush — never seen anything like it before, but it was love at first use! This set is an excellent value for the quality and usefulness, and a major upgrade over the cheap synthetic brushes i had been using. Highly recommend!

These are my most used set of brushes. The are durable,yet soft and hold a lot of water and paint. Very nice strokes and lines.

Amazing set!

Only giving four stars because I don’t care for the petals brush. It is awkward and streaky. Would have loved to have gotten another round brush instead. They are otherwise the top quality Princeton is known for and are great no matter new or old hand watercolorist.

I am an absolute beginner and NOT adept and painting and drawing so I started my watercolor hobby with inexpensive brushes, paint, and paper. I have been practicing evergreen trees over and over, trying various size and type of brush and just not getting the result I want and getting discouraged. I decided to scale up to a little more expensive brushes and paper. I tested the #8 brush in this set and literally said “wow” out loud. This brush was silky against the paper, I understood the concept of how much water the brush holds, I can make flower petal shapes consistently! And I have a hand tremor so that’s not easy. And this is a modestly priced brush! I’m a long, long way from Michelangelo or Kandinsky or even Pollack but I am hopeful again that this will be a satisfying hobby.

I use these Princeton brushes mostly for painting flowers and plants in watercolor. They hold just the right amount of water and pigment for smaller work such as this, and they hold their shapes really well for semi-loose painting. The prices are very reasonable for such a well-performing brush.

Nice sized brushes for petals and leaves the triangle brush is a bonus for me
