The Underwater Museum: The Submerged Sculptures of Jason deCaires Taylor Hardcover – Illustrated, March 11, 2014

This is one of best artist out today and this book captures his beautiful works in the water. These Sculptures are just breath taking and to see how marine life is adding to it.Well worth the money . I just hope one day to see some of these in person.

This book is magnificently done both in terms of design (interweaving of images and text) and the quality of resolution on the photography: even for those who haven't had the privilege to visit The Underwater Museum off of Cancun, Mexico (fortunately I have), the work Jason de Caires Taylor has done is compellingly beautiful not only first-hand but in print. For those who are drawn into the silent, evocative world of his art/science, his website has stunning video footage of the years-long effort to craft, install and then marvel at the progression of the sculptures into coral reefs to countervail the degradation of other nearby coral reefs caused by irresponsible so-called 'eco-tourism' and massive littering/pollution of our planet's water resources.

The photographic quality, and patina of the books pages was poor. The small scale of the photographic images did not lend itself to the scale of the sculpture. The book seemed cramped and cheap and was not a good vehicle to transport the otherworldly images of Jason DeCaires Taylor to a visual audience.

Beautiful pictures and well-bound book. This is more a coffee table book.

I had read articles about the museum, but did not realize that there was a book available until recently. It is a great book -- wonderful photos -- and really great what they are trying to accomplish.

This artist is such a visionary! The book is a gem, it puts me in an altered state, just looking at the dreamy pictures. Other worldly, for sure. Thank you for compiling these photos and the story. I love it.

I've dove these dive sites and had to get this book for my coffee table. Put it on your bucket list to dive these areas and support this fabulous artist! Thank you Jason deCaires Taylor for all your work.
