It works out of the box for neck pain and back pain relief!
So I read the reviews and decided to take the plunge. First critical statements were this was hard to pump up and REALLY? If you attach the hose properly AND close the nozzle (the little thing you spin) it takes all of about 30 seconds to pump up by hand and you can start feeling it fill up with air after maybe 5-10 pumps. I guess if you're very feeble and weak this could be a tough task for you but honestly it's not challenging at all and maybe I don't know 30 or so squeezes of the rubber ball and it was fully inflated. So out of the box, attach the hose (10 seconds) put on your neck and attach the Velcro straps to make sure stays in place (20 seconds), attach the hose to the squeeze ball (15 seconds), and make sure the nozzle nob is closed by turning it. Then start squeezing the ball to fill up with air (30 seconds) and viola that's it. In LESS THAN TWO MINUTES out of the box and item is on your neck, fully secured, fully inflated, and you can feel it work. To take off simply spin the nob by the squeeze ball and the air will start to release to deflate the item. Anyone who says this is difficult to use is unable to follow simple instructions and is the reason we have do not eat warnings on plastic containers.

Cervical traction for herniated disc
I was told by my orthopedic doctor to try cervical traction for my cervical herniated disc c5/c6 affecting my c6 nerve root. It is suppose to help open up the discs so the herniated portion can ideally move back in place. I can tell you that this device does exactly that. As you pump up the collar with the hand held pump you can feel the air going in as it slowly inflates. You can feel your neck stretching out. To let the air out you turn the metal valve left to open it and allow air to leave. Turn it right to close valve and pump it up. Easy to use. Good price. Does exactly what it is suppose to do. I am 5ft 3inches and 180lbs and it tightens small enough for me with plenty of room to get bigger. I think this should be a one size fits all that will truly fit most everyone.Side note- this has no factor on your purchase but I did want to make note that stretching my neck is painful. Because it works so well. So go slow pumping it up and it’s easily adjustable to comfort with the valve. Nothing has helped me this far BUT this device is not to blame. This device has allowed me to be in compliance with my doctors recommendations of at home trial and error techniques. If you need to try traction. This will be perfect for you.

Idk if it works
I felt the pressure and it straightening my spine. But I felt like it was giving me a headache. Didn't use it long enough to see if it actually has long term effects

I kind of like it
So, here is the facts to consider! When you pump it up from brand new out of the box remember it takes a while.. At first thought was this has a leak!! So I took if off pumped it as I slowly moved the device all around to see if I can hear a leak or air going inside I did si until I got it fully pumped up! So it didn’t have any leaks and was working correctly!, but it takes a bit of time! The brace has a couple of issues that I will point out though. The first is when you put it on there is two straps that need to be velcroed in place! This is the issue both are attached on the same side! so without a mirror you don’t know if you grabbing the upper strap or lower strap! so you can cross them!! So get a good feel while watching yourself place straps in place because you will at some point not have a mirror to assist…I also recommend pulling them tighter to close up the front.. The solution would be place lower strap on left and upper on right so you can feel and know which strap you have!!The second suggestion is pull the strap tighter than you would think, because as you pump up the brace the opening in front may not lift the jaw up equaly and if you pump it up or is some one helps to pump it up for you, then be aware that the strap if not tight could go across the front of the neck and choke you or cause issues swallowing! I found out the hard way!! I pumped it up and it felt good so I tried to pump it up more and more and as I did the strap was not tight and once it was nearly fully inflated the strap then came in contact with my neck and I coughed and once I coughed I started more and more and the strap hindered me and cause pressure where I started to panic. Just so I could remove my fear of it I quickly deflated and took some water in and tried again but the second time I used a mirror to make sure which strap was where as I had rhem crossed, as well I tightened the straps up because while I was choking I could see that the upper baffle was more on my face when it should have been lower! This would have been avoided if I had tightened the straps pulling the front closed and allowing it to rest under my jaw line.I re-set it from the mirror and then pumped it up again this time it was tight enough to stay under the jaw line and lift the neck upward equally and gave a much better support and stayed away from my throat.. Giving me the help I needed without the fear of being choked..

The best neck traction device I have used!
I have purchased and used 2 other brands, which did the job, but were not very comfortable. I had to put a cloth under my chin to keep the corners of the straps from scratching my neck. They also both started loosing air within 3 months. But this brand has exceeded all my expectations! It’s not as wide, as pumps up 3 smaller layers (instead of two larger layers) so it is way more comfortable. The air tube stays tucked in under the chin strap even while doing house work: The little ball or bead in the tube can be moved in or out of the tube so it never looses air!Because of my neck issues I have to wear it for long periods of time, otherwise my back muscles will start to burn ferociously… so I am especially grateful to have found a traction device that is both effective and comfortable! So please read the instructions before you use it!

Terrible design flaw that makes it very uncomfortable
This isn't absolute waste of money. They're design is a joke. The worst thing about this is the straps dig into your neck because instead of putting them on the outside of the unit to hold the rings together they put them underneath and on top if you look at the picture close. I bought one for myself and one for my friend and we both hate them they are so uncomfortable. All they had to do was take those velcro straps and put them on the front surface so they would be easy to connect together it would not dig into your skin. I do not recommend this item at all.
