Can you use it to make chutney?

You probably could, though I’m not sure you need to blitz chutney. Wouldn’t recommend this model however. The blades are small, the connection between the body and head is weak and it feels cheap and badly put together

Is it easy to assemble? Last blender i bought is impossible to put together as it simply does not click. Tx

very easy to put together,bottom half just give it a twist into the base.job done.but its a bit noisy when turned on.hope this helps

Do you have to keep pressing the button with your thumb to keep it on?

Yes you do have to keep the button pressed all the time it has no means of locking it ON but does work exceedingly well on both speeds
