Been a fan of Wayfayrer foods for a longtime. Easy to cook and taste great. I use them on multi day treks and there’s nothing better than an easy to cook warm meal at the end of a long days trek in the mountains. Just cook in the bag in hot water on your camping stove for 5 mins. You can even use the water for a brew once meal is cooked. Essential part of my kit when multi day camping in the mountains.

I primarily bought this for a weekend hiking trip, and the convenience factor alone earns it high marks. The 300g portion is satisfyingly filling, especially after a long day on the trail. I heated mine up in boiling water, and the pasta and sauce were ready in minutes. The flavor profile is hearty—a rich, savory tomato base with minced beef—and it genuinely tasted like proper food, not just ration survival gear. It’s well-seasoned, and the texture is acceptable; the pasta holds its shape, though it’s certainly softer than freshly cooked al dente. My only reason for docking one star is the price point (they are definitely a premium over standard dehydrated meals) and the slight oiliness that comes with these retort pouch meals. However, if you need guaranteed, quick, and reliable calories that you can eat hot or cold with minimal fuss, this is absolutely worth the investment. Perfect for camping, emergencies, or just keeping a quick lunch handy.
