Brilliant product!
I have both the Reception and Year 1/2 packs and find them invaluable in helping my child to read, write and understand sentence structure. My daughter just clicked with these straight away as they aren't boring and flat like words in a book. They are big enough for young hands to pick up and put down on the magnetic board easily and because it is more interactive than a book, my daughter really found it engaging. She was able to construct a sentence, read it back and then tell instantly if it was correct and if not, she would simply pick up the offending words and replace them. I have found that if she makes a mistake when writing a sentence she is downhearted as has to start again in order for it to make sense to her, which takes a lot of time and boredom as well as resentment can set in. With these sets, the kids can simply chop and change the words as they feel like it and that in itself makes them feel more confident in themselves and less likely to worry if they make a mistake. The fact that they can also write on the white board and rub it off again makes it a lot of fun as they can write words or sentences with confidence having ironed out the errors beforehand by using the magnetic words in the correct order. I genuinely wish I had bought these earlier - thoroughly recommend them.

Very useful
These magnetic National Curriculum words are great. They help children and adults to learn to read the words in our common vocabulary that are not pronounced phonetically but are used from an early age or stage. They make words more physical and less abstract. The child can win the word if they can read it as it is a concrete item to hold. Extra words may be added to make sentences. The days of the week and months of the year can easily be placed in order and the same endings can then be seen more easily. The magnetic board was great to use but any metal surface like a fridge would work or simply on a table too,

The item was very good but really needs to be used in conjunction with the Early Years words or else you don’t have the small words e.g ‘a’ and ‘I’ that you need.

Very useful reading and writing resource
I have been using the words to help with my sons reading and writing. I lay them face down on the table. He has a toy fishing rod with a magnetic hook on the end and we use this to fish for words. He has to read the word he catches and then write it. He seems to really enjoy this. We are also fishing for words and then using the words to write sentences.

Good, but needs more frequent words
The quality of word pieces is good and the magnetic board is good, although some very commonly words are missing which makes it harder to build sentences.

was disappointed first as when they came you have to break them all apart from the sheet and a good few the top layer with the writing tore away from the cardboard center and magnetic back , so i had to do it really carefully and go over the line with a stanley knife. After that they were fine.
