Excellent piece of equipment and very
Excellent piece of equipment and very, very easy to set up and use once you install your own 9v battery.Switch on and the screen is ready for readings from shooting the air or cartridge rifle. As long as printed instructions are followed by shooting through the detectors at a height of 4" minimum clearance from the photo cells and a 5ft distance away from the Chrony to avoid muzzle blast giving false readings, everything works perfect. My airguns are now proved perfectly legal within UK regulations of less than 12ft/lbs energy for air rifles and 6ft/lbs energy for air pistols.Well worth the cost to remain legal. Ignorance is no excuse in law.

Good kit
Have used this several times and found it reliable but sometimes infuriatingly it fails to read, usually just when you need to know the velocity urgently. Very easy to use.

worth every penny
Arrived very quickly, and having read a few reviews commenting on how difficult it was to set up I was a little apprehensive. My fears however were completely unfounded. the instruction were very clear, and easy to remember, and on the first outing I had it set up and working perfectly in under two minutes without having to refresh my memory

OK Chrony
It's OK. Needs natural light or separate light box. Without separate light box it won't work very well indoors.Could easily be improved with some form of protection on the LCD screen and better quality parts inside - lots of cheap, low quality plastic. The outside metal is good though. Also often have to switch off and on again after 1st reading. More often than not I can only get one reading at a time. I am unable to measure velocities consecutively without switch device off and then on between each shot, making it rather tedious. Expected more for the money. Light box cost about the same as this device.

NO
No should have bought something better . no reset button and broke down after being used twice . bought a little combro afterwards . cheaper , better , easier to use . if you get one , align it with the barrel by putting a pen down it and just into the barrel , before locking the screw off .. saves looking down it to make sure it is dead center .

Must Have for Shooters!
A "must have" if you intend to do any work on your air rifle, both so you can make sure your work is positive and so you can make sure your Sub 12 ft lb stays UK Legal. Also recommend some jeweller's scales so you can properly weigh a batch of 19 pellets before running them.Only limit with the basic version is you need a good sunny day to get consistent readings, but they're are lamps available if you need to use it indoors.

A must buy item to ensure you stay within the law.
A must if you like to tinker with your toys. Been putting off buying one for years due to the price but i'm so glad I picked this up. First thing I did was to Chrono my BSA S10 which had just come back from the RFD who serviced the cylinder due to leaks. To my horror it was putting out 17 foot pounds and was promptly returned to the RFD. The rifle did not feel any different to my other rifle which puts out a constant 11.2 foot pounds. So to be on the safe side get yourself one of these to ensure you stay within legal limits , forget the cheap alternatives they are not as good as a Chrony.
