Got this 2 n 1 fairy tails for my 9yr old Grandson...HE LOVED IT, we talked bout how old theses stories are, but how modern the messages are.. it's great he can read Russian n Denmark Authors, & KNOW THE STORY

Beautiful book with excellent illustrations.

Very small book. Stories are great.

This is a beautiful book and a classic. It is my go-to for new baby gifts, pairing it with a Mother Goose collection. The pair constitutes a perfect starter library for a new family.

Love the illustrations and stories. There’s a superb mix of illustrators and each gets their own mini biography. This is great for people who are as into illustration and illustrators as they are into the stories.Heads up it’s based on a later edition that the Grimm brother’s wrote that removed some stories and edited the remaining ones to be more child friendly. They did this after they realized children and families where reading their compilation of fairy tales (which was originally intended as an academic work cataloguing folk stories). Unless your a history buff or into folk lore and anthropology it shouldn’t matter, this has all the classics.The double sided design is a bit annoying and I foresee that it’ll eventually lead me to accidentally ripping the paper fold out that “hides” the pages.

I am hoping my children will love for reading like I do. This is a beautiful book, love the illustrations. I didn't pay enough attention, it is a smaller-sized book that what I was anticipating, but that is my fault.

I am terribly disappointed in this product. Please everyone do not be fooled by the other customer review photo's. I bought this product because the customer review photo's showed a beautiful hard cover book that was very large.I selected hard cover and was very excited to read this with my baby cousin. But when I received the product it was quite small and the cover was a softcover consisting more of a cardboard feel than anything else. The illustrations are indeed beautiful and the stories are true to the Grimm fairytales but over all I was not given what I was promised.

My child greatly enjoys this. When we watch classic cartoon movies, One of my children always asks about the history and the origins of the story. He greatly appreciated these stories as a source for said “origin stories”. The book is also efficient as it is all Hans Christian on one side and all brother’s Grimm on the flip side. It’s bound by a hardcover with a page protector. I will say that the product information I read on this hardcover mentioned gold edged pages, and it does not have that—just a brown page cover. I am not sure if this is an error, or hasn’t been updated to reflect newer editions… overall I would suggest as it is a nicely bound book with illustrations from varied art styles each story.

Super achat, papier de qualité, un vrai beau livre malgré sa relative petite taille, épais, des couleurs profondes, de belles illustrations variées et nombreuses, pour des contes mythiques et dans un anglais abordable... très sympa le côté recto/verso pour Andersen/les frères Grimm... jamais déçu par la maison Taschen!!! 😍
