Churchill's Confectionery Carousel Tin 300 g English Toffee

This novelty tin is amazing! It is really really beautiful and it has a uncommon design, perfect for a collector. The box isn't very big but it contains enough candies. The candies were also amazing, at least for our taste. Unfortunately we ate them in a few days but they could last for a longer time if you can control yourself. Fortunately, I prefered a little bit more the golden toffees and my husband a little bit more the silver fudge, so there was no problem between us, haha!

The Churchill's Carousel Tin with Dairy toffees is a good buy and one I am happy to recommend, though I will say the contents are the toffees only which was fine by me as I bought these as a present and the recipient was very pleased with both the tin and the sweets. The toffees are soft and rich toffee which reminded me of the old fashioned toffees I used to get when I was a child. They really are buttery and delicious and clearly made from top class ingredients. Dad who received the sweets has had more people asking him about the actual tin as it is so vividly decorated with a wonderful old fashioned carousel and it really does stand out. The actual tin is made of good quality, Why I love this brand of sweets is they make the old fashioned tasting sweets which are made to perfection and the taste is just beautiful, they taste like toffee sweets not the usual sweets of today which only taste of E numbers and preservatives. I would actually say everything about this tin of sweets is First Class and for that reason alone I am very happy to recommend Churchill's Carousel TIn with Dairy Toffees as a great buy and also they came with a use by date of 2015 which was another plus. Though believe me they were so tasty they did not last past the end of 2013 therefore it was the perfect excuse to purchase another tin of these beautiful tasting sweets.

This is a great gift- lovely tin with vibrant colours.The toffees in it were a bonus! I had purchased the gift as it looked strikingly similar to the tin used in the film 'Love me if you dare.'It's worth noting that it's smaller than what I imagined, I was expecting a quality street size tin- it's a bit smaller than this. However I felt it's size actually made it more adorable. I was very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it!

I bought the tin to store some of my bakes in and it is beautiful. The detail on the tin is gorgeous, with mirrors around the side and children riding the horses. However I was disappointed it was small, I was expecting a larger tin. It is as big as your hand with your fingers spread out, I was expecting a tin of the roses or quality street size for ten pounds. I am glad I ordered it as it is lovely and the golden toffees are lush.

Bought the tin to use as a biscuit tin, toffees and fudge that comes inside the tin are yummy, taste creamy too, and the tin is beautiful, perfect size for a biscuit tin to sit on my coffee table

Way to expensive for the size

This is such a lovely tin. Embossed with horses and looks just like a carnival ride. It's packed full of toffees and fudge. Now I didn't get to try them but the recipients scoffed the lot in a day so must be good. Great gift and I would order another

This Lovely, whimsical tin with delicious, fresh toffee candies arrive from England to the Northwest corner of the US quickly. I’m very pleased with this product. It will make a delightful gift, if I don’t break in and eat all the toffees myself.

Delicious treats in an attractive tin. I bought this for my collection of British treat tins. It is a fine addition. The carousel tin is demential and the artwork is very attractive. The treats inside are very tasty and fresh. I will buy from them again.

I LOVE candy, but I am particular. I don't just eat something because it is sweet. Churchill's Dairy Toffees are the best. There is one other UK brand that is almost as good, but Churchill's is just a bit better. The reason I do not give them a score of 5 stars is because: (1) they are only available in a decorative tin (which makes the price higher). And how many tins does a person need? (2) in this particular tin, you get a mixture of 1/2 white fudge and 1/2 toffee. None of my friends really care for the fudge, so we eat the toffee and the fudge just sits there. Since this is an expensive item, that is a lot of wasted money (3) from what I've been able to discover, the dairy toffees are packed in two sizes: 200g and 400g. To get the 400g of candy, you have to purchase the carousel tin, and as I said above, you actually only get 1/2 (200g) of the toffee in the tin so you might as well buy the smaller size package. The problem with that is, it just gets more expensive accordingly. Let me explain the price: The Carousel tin (which contains 1/2 toffee and 1/2 white fudge) costs about $30, which means that 200g of toffee cost $15. The 200g size is available in several decorative tins. If you purchase one of the other tins of toffee they currently cost $23 or $25 for 200g. What it boils down to is you either pay $15 for a bag of candy or $23/$25 for a bag of candy. But, the candy is very very good! If they were more flexible in their packaging (such as allowing us to buy a bag of the candy rather than having to buy a decorative tin) this would be a 5-star item in my book. For those not familiar with this sort of weights and measures: 200g bag of candy is just under 1/2 pound (roughly 7 ounces).
