I like Kurylenko. Good acting, good story.

I purchased Momentum as I had seen Olga Kurylenko in other movies and thought she is a great actress; okay I doubt she is Oscar material, but she is great at action movies and is an attractive women who has a great screen presence.I thought the film has a reasonable story line and is pretty well acted and has depth..it is not a factual film so do not expect too much, but it is a great action packed movie watch. I must admit I didn't think it was James Purefoys finest acting performance; however I have seen worse. Overall there was genuine action from beginning to end and most important for me no noticeable swearing or excessive adult related scenes.

Is this a great film? - no, it is as far fetched as a bucket of water from Hong Kong and utterly daft. It is also ultra violent and fantastic fun. Would it be everyone's cup of tea? - good gosh no. If you don't like violence, female protagonists or James Purefoy leave well alone. If however, like me, you have a weakness for action films, James Purefoy and like to see a female protagonist for a change you will enjoy this. Think Jason Statham action movie but with Olga rather than the Stathe and you've got the pegging about right. This was panned by the critics - I think they were wrong.

Without reading any write-ups i did buy the film, mainly because of the inclusion of 'James Purefoy' loved his role as'Ryan Hardy's' nemesis 'Joe Carroll' in 'The Following'Before viewing the film however i did glance at one or two reviews, needless to say i did end up with very-low expectations.'Alex' (Olga Kurylenko) a skilled robber has been persuaded to pull one last heist, the reward, diamonds and cash, howeverthere is something else in amongst the haul...a hard-drive which is of greater value to someone of importance than the cashand diamonds.'Mr Washington' (James Purefoy) a ruthless and cold fixer who will stop at nothing to get the job done, has been hired alongwith his thugs by a corrupt Senator played by 'Morgan Freeman' to pursue the thieves and recover the 'drive'After her partner in crime is tortured and killed by 'Washington's' thugs 'Alex' is on the run and pursued relentlessly, however'Mr Washington' would do well not to underestimate his quarry, she is very resourceful and full of tricks.Okay, the story-line perhaps a little thin as is the script, however it does have some decent car-stunt and action sequencesalong the way.Not something i am likely to watch again in truth, i'd say, rather than buy, catch it on the movie-channels maybe....has it'smoments.

I loved this film. Well worth watching

First off were not dealing with Oscar material here, just good old fashioned mindless action and violence (that you can expect for 15 rated film). Olga Kurylenko (of Quantum of Solace fame) almost jumps into Bond's shoe's as an expert robber who can outsmart and out fight most of her male adversary's in this South African based robbery thriller. After being convinced to do one last job things go awry when the job also contains sensitive information which is damaging to powerful senator Morgan Freeman. Enter cold blooded mercenary James Purefoy (of The Following playing a superb baddie role) and his troops to take down Olga and recover the sensitive information.The plot is nothing new but the action sequences are enjoyable, very much like a Olivier Megaton / Luc Besson film such as Taken or Lockout. Probably not a regular spinner in the Blu-Ray player but ideal if your after some fun and mindless action.
