Thought that two-prongs would stop food sliding down the skewers, but when you put an item through both prongs at once, the prongs pull together until the tips cross-over at the top, meaning that any food added afterwards will have a slit through it rather than the two holes of the prong (if you can put the food on it without it splitting apart).I eventually used them as two separate skewer prongs. However, next time I'll do this and then finish with food through both prongs to cross the tips and this should stop food sliding off (not that any food did slide off when I used it). I needed the food not to slide off as I wanted to put them in the BBQ vertically downward like a tandoor.Easy clean but one of the wood handles appears to have split probably from the BBQ heat.

Too flexible, so when loading the prongs they simply pull together and cross at the tips. a design flaw, basically. A flat single skewer is a better solution to the food slipping problem, I guess.

These are well made skewers that have double prongs which means you can rotate them and all skewered items rotate without slippage. No more carefully checking each item is cooking as intended. Fabulous.

I was looking for some double-skewers for grilling. The all-metal units I saw appeared flimsy and short. This type with a wooden handle looked more sturdy.I agree with some comments that the skewers tend to bend towards each other at the tips as you slide food onto them. That just appears to be the nature of these double-skewers and happens with all of the models, and it will tend to tear some food. HOWEVER, with a small degree of effort you can hold the tines parallel while you push the food on, solving the 'problem'.I really like these double skewers! They do keep the food from rotating like on a single skewer, as hoped for. The handles do get hot, even if left protruding outside the grill cover - wear oven gloves for handling! Next time, I am going to try covering the wooden handles with foil and inserting completely under the grill cover so I can position where ever I want to .
