Works great with my Weber Gas BBQ
I bought it for my gas fired BBQ for those days I am not making a charcoal fire. Filled with smoke wood pellets I get nearly 6 hours of burn time. Very happy with the product

Would definitely recommend
I got this as a first 'toe in the water' for cold smoking. I filled it with wood chips and lit it with a kitchen blowtorch like the first reviewer suggested. It smoked for 10 mins or so and then went out. I lit it again and it burned for about 3 hours at a pretty constant 37 degrees according to my iGrill.I just used it to smoke a block of cheddar from the fridge as an experiment. I didn't think it would work for a minute. But the results are amazing! I love smoked cheese and this definitely lived up to my expectations. I'm going to try some fish at the weekend and I've ordered a selection of different wood dust to try.Overall, I don't think this is going to suit any serious smokers who want to smoke a whole pig for a week or something but for the money, if you want to give it a try with smaller things like fish. cheese, bacon, etc, then I think this is perfect. I'd definitely recommend it.**Edit - Just to add: I've had this a while now. I've done smoked salt, garlic, cheese, salmon and trout. This morning I did a whole trout using hickory wood dust and it smoked well for nearly 6 hours. I've just filled it back up as the trout needs 12 hours in total but I've added a block of mature cheddar, a block of mild cheddar and a chunk of Edam. I've got no doubt that this will come out great.

Surprisingly good
I have used it only once so far and so far so good.Got a decent amount of smoke - was wondering how to light it but left it on the gas BBQ (Weber Q) came back to a ton of smoke coming out the ventsDid really seem to add flavour into the roast beef (Indirect heat on a rotisserie)The smoke lasted about 30-40 mins but I didn't fill it all the way up - will see what more I can do with it. Definitely added flavour as you see roast beef and expect to taste roast beef but a mind game when you start getting smoke hickory etc flavours coming out..... not a UK roast beef but BBQ style!Bought various flavoured pellets to try out as like the idea of a bit of smoke flavour in meats like the Americans can do with their BBQ's and as I only have a small Gas one adds a bit more flavour for sure so far. Can't wait to try maple pellets and some ribs next.

Plenty of smoke and easy to use.
I bought this item for use with cold smoking. Having used it once, I can say it works well.I used maple wood pellets and filled the tube before lighting the end. It gave out plenty of smoke for around 5 hours, although I had two attempts to light it correctly.The way that worked best was to use a kitchen blowtorch to light the end. I then turned it on it's end like a candle and waited for the flames to go out.My only real concern was that it gave out more heat than my other wood dust maze smoker. Next time I will use some ice to keep the food cool whilst smoking, or wait for a very cold day.

Get one of these there brilliant
Brilliant bit of kit, I use this on my "Outback" gas BBQ with ceramic coals, light one burner and place already lit smoke tube at the opposite end above unlit burner, drop the hood and away you go, used it to smoke/cook two pork butts at 100 C over 6 hours amazing result.A little tip, get yourself a small "kitchen blowtorch" light the open end, make sure the pellets are well alight, wait for the flames to die away and the smoke starts.Always wanted an "America" style BBQ/smoker, now with this little gadget I can smoke on my existing gas BBQ at a fraction of the cost of a new BBQ/smoker.A great buy, get one.

Needs improvement
The problem with this is when it is laid flat like shown in the photos the chips come out the end and it is hard to light. I used chips which were designed for this but i had to relight it every 10 mins which caused the smoke to escape and the area used to heat up more than i would have liked for pork. I would suggest adding a metal strip at the entrance to help hold them in.

great product for price
i use this almost every time i fire up my pellet grill just to add some extra smoke, if you fill the tube up it lasts around 4-6 hours recommend it to anyone
