Due to a medical condition I can get easily dehydrated. The hospital gave me a recipe for a homemade electrolyte drink which uses table salt but I never found this to be particularly good. I did sometimes get dehydrated and suffer with cramps. What I found worked well was Bulk Powders electrolyte powder instead of salt. When this was on offer I could get it for around £18 for 1kg but rarely on a decent offer and can be up to £50 for 1kg. Far too expensive for a product that is predominantly salt.Looking for an alternative that was cheaper I gave this Himalayan salt a try. I've been using this to make my electrolyte drink for around 3 weeks and had no issues at all. It works as well as the much more expensive Bulk Powders electrolyte powder at a fraction of the cost.

This is a really nice fine pink salt..excellent quality and used daily in our house.

I have bought this brand a few times for one reason alone - value for money. You get a large amount of salts for your money and the resealable bag is always a plus.Like many pink salts, they linger stubbornly in the bath afterwards and must be cleaned thoroughly. Don't expect them to dissolve. Apart from that, they are easy to use though.On the pleasure factor, truthfully I don't feel any different health benefits wise for using them. Some salts give a real wow - these do not. But what can you expect at the price.

If you are making sauerkraut or Kimchi you can't use table salt because of the additivesPickling salt is way to expensive for no logical reasonThis is a pure salt no additives with a nice pink colour which will do the job perfectlyI f you are doing sauerkraut for the first time I would recommend adding in some garlic and peppers (or chillies) and use half red half white cabbageA total weight of shredded veg about 800gm of which about 90% will be cabbage, and mixed with 1 tablespoon of this rock salt ,then packed into a Kilner or Mason jar utill the cabbage releases enough liquid to cover all the shredded cabbageIt' really important to keeps the air off the cabbage stopping it spoiling so it must stay submergedTwo weeks at room temperature lid closed but not airtight and it will be fermentedthen it will keep for months in fridgetry mixing it with a can of tuna for sandwiches

This is the second time to buy pink salt from this company. The price is good and this is easy to use.The quality is very good.I ordered 1 kg and two bags were delivered. However, the label on the bag says 1kg ( 1000g ) each. I thought I ordered 2 quantities by mistake.I put it on the scale and the scale says roughly 500 g, not 1000g. So I found my order was correct. It is confusing and I don't think it is a good attitude for the company, although this company is run by family and tries to deliver good quality products.
