Kuryakyn6240 Premium ISO Handlebar Grips for Throttle and Clutch: Universal Fit for Motorcycles with 1" Diameter Bars, Chrome, 1 Pair

The grips arrived nicely packaged with instructions, glue and a spacer for bars too long for the grips. I installed them in about 30 minutes, but I did not glue them in place. I've read in other reviews that the glue sets up real fast, so I opted to simply wet the bars with soapy water and slip the grips into place. This worked well, and they seem solid.The clutch side grip was very easy to install. Simply remove the factory grip by inserting a screwdriver under the rubber and spray a little WD40 between the rubber and chrome handle bar. The grip will easily twist off afterward. The new grip slid into place with little effort and lined up perfectly. Nice and solid.The throttle side grip was a little trickier. Removal of the old grip was basically the same, except you'll be inserting the screwdriver between the rubber grip and the plastic throttle housing. Once off, the fun starts. The instructions say you need to sand down any ribs or ridges on the plastic throttle housing for the grip to fit properly. I thought I would disregard this minor annoyance, and quickly found out I needed to do as the instructions say. Sanding the ridges off didn't go so well. I had to employ my grinder to carefully rid the plastic housing from the ridges. You have to go up to nearly the very end of the housing too. There is a wider ridge that runs around the plastic housing that will keep the grip from fully seating on the bar. You need to grind it down. Just be careful to not grind through the plastic all the way. It is fairly thick, but if you use a grinder like I did, there won't be much room for error.After the grinding, the grip slid into place with a little soapy water and looks beautiful. If you aren't careful, the rubber bumps on the grip will push out of place. They easily push back into place, so don't worry if this happens to you.On my bike, I didn't need the plastic spacer sleeve. You might, so try a trial fit to be sure.Overall, I'm very pleased with these grips. They look great, feel solid and make the vibrations in my bar nearly unnoticeable. Great purchase!

I was always skeptical on why someone would spend $60-80 for a set of grips... until I rode a friend's bike with Kuryakyn ISO grips... I was sold within the first few miles. Whether you have 7/8" bars or 1" bars, the O.D. of the grips are the same, and larger is better for comfort and grip. These sure beat the uneven size of my stock grips, which wore me out. I wish I had replaced them with Kuryakyn ISO grips a LONG time ago!Grips are heavy (about a pound, each), which reduce vibration in your bars (and makes your hands happy on long rides)Spaces between "bumps" allow for great air-flowRubber is an excellent grip, with or with out gloves, not too hot in the sun, not numbing cold in cool weatherChrome is over metal... NOT plastic like the ISO knock-offs being sold everywhereGrips are very easy to install, as long as you have about 45-min to spare... Here's some hints not in instructions:1. Clean off old glue with goo-off or similar cleaner/degreaser2. Instructions say to remove bar-end weights... this is not necessary if the weights are "internal" to the bar3. Instructions say to remove ribs from throttle tube... this was not necessary on my Honda (grip fit tight, without glue), as grip's rubber interior locked easily onto the tiny ribs of the throttle tube... this also removed the possibility that any glue might get between throttle tube and bar... and "freeze-up" the throttle. I may add some glue later (if I notice any slippage), but for now... it hasn't been necessary... and there wasn't any glue on my stock grip either.4. Use the glue liberally (whole tube of glue) on the clutch-side... twisting the grip (one direction only) onto the bar will reduce "plowing" glue and help to spread it evenly on the bar5. ABOVE ALL... TAKE YOUR TIME... Don't rush the process... Once the glue sets, there's no "un-do" or "tweaking"Glue sets in about 20-seconds, and reaches 75% cure in 5-10 minutes. Glue will fully cure in 8-hrs (if outdoors)... but the longer you wait (up to 24-hrs) the better, to ensure maximum curing of the glue before putting torque on the grips... you really don't want one falling off in your hand while accelerating down the highway :)

All I needed was a little glue and they slid on nice. the glue that came with it started to harden almost instantly. The throttle side was easier sliding over the plastic throttle sleeve, the clutch side had more friction sliding over metal. I would advise using something like Elmers Rubber Cement to glue your grips, it works perfectly and gives you plenty of time to get your grips in place properly, only downfall is that it takes a good 24 hours to really cure.

Really disappointed with the quality of these grips.I have fitted many pairs of Kuryakyn ISO grips before and never had any issues, however these ones did not fit the throttle sleeve correctly, fitment was far to tight for 7/8 1" sizing and the rubber bubble grip tore as it was going on.sizing was definitely wrong, for the price I am definitely not a happy customer. :(

The look, the feel, the original. These grips are so popular I had to try a set when I changed my handlebars. Nice cushy grip pads and a great chrome housing. They do an ok job of isolating vibrations. Installation is straightforward, a helpful tip: If using the included plastic spacer tube, you can pop out one half of the rubber pads to check fitment easier before final assembly. One con maybe not worth mentioning is the rubbery smell it leaves on your hands if you don't wear gloves.
