Small size, big sound.
An amp this small has no right to sound this good. I have used it with single coil pickups, filtertrons and humbuckers and all sound great. The clean sound has clarity and depth, especially when enhanced with the in built delays effect. The OD effect is OK but using the gain to get more of a crunch sound is really good. The emulated out works well so recording with it into an audio interface is great. I have also used it with some OD pedals and it works really well. As it is battery powered there is no mains hum which if just what I wanted it for. So overall absolutely brilliant as a practice amp or for recording using a computer and DAW,

Really good, portable amp for a reasonable price
I was concerned about getting an appropriate amp, as I wanted one that wouldn't take up much space or be too loud. This one is perfect for what I needed. It's extremely portable, both due to its size and being battery powered, which makes it particularly easy to store. I found it easy to set up and the sound quality is really good which was surprising given the size. However, I have been using it for indoor practise, I can't comment on what the sound quality is like for professional use. I particularly like that there is a headphone jack to use the amp with headphones, or to attach a device so that you can play along with actual songs. I do wish that it came with the plug as standard so that battery use could be saved for times when it's necessary but you can purchase the plug separately which I haven't yet looked in to.

Nice acoustic quality.
Lovely addition to my acoustic setup. That may sound odd, but in certain small venues my acoustic guitar needs a small kick to cut through. This amp does it with ease without sacrificing quality. Maybe ‘Bluetooth’ rather than mp3 input would be a little more helpful, as these days some mobile phones seem to have stopped using headphone output.

really good practice amp
Fantastic little amp, well built and quality finishing (what you would expect from a full size amp. The six battery capacity gives hours of cordless playingLoadsa output - overdrive/Gain volume/EQ/Delay versatile sound output without adding effects to it. Clean sound excellent - Delay very good and good range of adjustment, OD has a significant crunch when the gains banged up... but like most speakers the OD/distortion not brilliant with low volume(find I have to bang the volume on the guitar to full then adjust to suit on the amp. This can be a bit of a problem if your practising and not wanting to disturb people around you, but then again I've never found an amp that does like OD/distortion at low volumesOnly down point is the power supply plug socket size, smaller than conventional effects power cable size. This means can't daisy chain with my multi power output till I can find a cable to fit(had to purchase Blackstar power unit at a further £12 cost)Adding the high price for the amp and then the further £12 this made it a very expensive amp - why I dropped a star

Perfect for new guitarist.
I have been playing Guitar for all of 10 days, so this is not going to be a super in-depth review about all the advanced features of this amp. What it is though, is the thoughts of someone who lives in an apartment block and wanted something small to be able to practice his new guitar with...and for that it is brilliant!I looked at a few different options when considering this (Marshall MS2, Orange Micro Crush etc.) but this thing kept on coming out the favourite in all the comparisons so I took the plunge and ordered one.So, first things first. The amp is tiny! So much so that I was a little concerned that it wouldn't be able to perform particularly well in anything other than the smallest of rooms. This was very quickly negated when I plugged it into the guitar for the first time. The sound was big, it was clean and it was all coming from this tiny little box sat on my bookshelf.Being entirely new to the guitar scene I haven't had a chance to test out the extra features as much as I would like to be able to, but it comes with a clean and overdrive channel, tape delay, headphone out and a 3.5mm in.The latter two of these have been incredibly useful for me as I am able to use my headphones when my neighbours are in and being able to play the "learn to play" backing tracks through the amp as well makes practicing very convenient! It comes with 6 AA batteries and has the option of including a separate charger (sold separately). The batteries supposedly last a good long while and will be replaced with rechargeables once they eventually die.I recently took this with me on a weekend away where one of my friends, who has played guitar for over 30 years, was left utterly speechless by how impressive this device was.I originally thought that a micro-amp would be a short-lived purchase and that I would be upgrading to something larger fairly quickly. However, after listening to this thing in action, I don't think this will be getting replaced for a LONG while. And even when I do want to up the performance, I only need to purchase the cab extension for it to double the wattage. If you are just starting out with electric guitar or if you live in a place that doesn't lend itself well to ridiculous amounts of noise, then this little amp is a must-buy.

The only micro amp I've found that is a serious music tool.
The only micro amp I've found that is a serious music tool.Small, simple, well put together and nicely finished. Cleans sound lovely and sparkly and the drive channel gives a good "Crunch" sound, even though it's not a full on overdrive. Metal players won't like it, but for general playing it's superb. The delay setting can also be set to make a very musical sounding reverb, so you basically have reverb or delay. Blackstar should make more of this in their blurb, because it works really well.Mine tends to live on the drive channel, gain up high, delay time set to zero and depth set to full. Instant David Gilmour! The AA batteries last for absolutely ages. I'm glad I didn't bother buying the power supply because there's really no need.Any guitarist would be delighted to receive one of these.
