Simple, versatile and effective cleaner
This is an affordable cleaner that has worked well across all the devices I've used it for.No issues with cleaning a bean to cup machine, kettle, portafilter baskets etc. All have come out looking great after a few minutes soaking letting this do its thing.Very easy to use, just be sure to follow the appropriate instructions for your device.A great value compared to the brand name cleaners appliance makers tend to push.Highly recommended.

Exceptional Espresso Machine Cleaner
Never knew that this stuff existed until I watched an On Line Video for repairing my B2C Coffee Machine. Having had the machine for nearly 20 years, and never really carried out a thorough deep clean, I decided to try this stuff and I was surprised at how effective this cleaner is. The Coffee oils and stains imply washed away without any need for scrubbing or physical effort. Brew Group came out clean as a whistle.Only requiring 1 teaspoon per litre, this 900g tub is going to last a long time and thus great value for money. Highly recommend to keep your Coffee Machine in tip top condition and remove any bad tastes from your coffee.

Simply amazing.
Simply amazing. If you have a decent espresso machine with a 3-way solenoid you need this.I discovered this by chance. Having de-scaled using the Gaggia descaling solution and still getting poor flow through the group head and pressurised filter I learned that regular back flushing and cleaning of the filters is necessary. It is important to note that back flushing is only for machines with a 3-way solenoid [e.g. the Gaggia Classic and some Baby Gaggias]. Do not attempt to back flush machines that do not have a 3-way valve. Why backflush? Because the 3-way valve allows left over coffee to drain "backwards" from the "coffee puck", through the valve and out into the drip tray. This relieves pressure and makes for a drier coffee puck with less dripping. But that fresh espresso dries onto the inside of the screen area and the valve itself and soon becomes old stale espresso. By cleaning on a regular basis you will ensure that your lovely fresh espresso is not tainted by the last shot's, or worse, past years, flavours!Having learned more through watching a few online videos I also discovered that pressurised filters are prone to clogging up due to the fact that the oils settle between the part of the filter with many holes and the single hole beneath.Cafiza is something I wish I'd discovered sooner as it may have helped prevent my filter becoming clogged and it might have lasted longer. However, after a back flush, using a blind filter purchased separately, and replacing the old filter basket with a new one, everything was back to normal and the Gaggia Classic is performing magnificently once again. This stuff is magic in the way it cleans. Only a small amount mixed with warm water in a metal or glass [NOT PLASTIC] jug is needed to clean your portafilter holder, screen filter, filter basket and other peripherals. It works like magic on those tea tainted spoons too and even restored a tainted soy sauce bottle to a sparkling squeaky clean state.Simply amazing.

Effective and good value
This product works OK and is good value considering you only need a small amount each time when back flushing the machine and you get a lot in the container for your money. You can also use it to soak clean other coffee stained components like the brew basket. There are safety warnings on the packet which should be heeded especially if there are children about when you are cleaning the machine, but it is a good product to help maintain your espresso maker.

Regularly backflushing your espresso machine with Urnex Cafiza is necessary for getting great tasting coffee.
If you are in anyway serious about the standard of coffee you drink, sooner than later you will need to "backflush" your espresso machine. This process removes all the oils and other residues left behind each time you pull a shot of coffee. The difference in the taste of coffee made after backflushing your machine can be dramatic. I got my Gaggia Classic machine almost 2 years ago and although I had descaled it a few times, I hadn't bothered to backflush it. It was only when my machine had difficulty pumping watera few weeks ago that I decided to backflush it for the first time. After a bit of detective work I found that Urnex Cafiza is recommended for all major espresso machines. Just a small amount of the powder dissolved in water and left to work on the pipework of the machine will restore your machine to almost factory standard. Now that I know some more about how my espresso machine works, I will be backflushing it every few weeks.

Cleaning DeLonghi ESAM 4200 Machines
Between friends and family we own four DeLonghi ESAM machines and we each used the Cafiza2 product to clean our machines but we all had different results ?Each of us lives in a different part of the country. For example we have limescale in our water in Dorset and in spite of using filtered water it took three attempts to clean our machine before ' flushed water ' would run clear through the spouts. At the other end of the scale our son who lives in Manchester was disappointed because one clean was more than enough. It seems therefore that the coffee oils / residues attach themselves to the limescale deposits within the route that the coffee takes to the output spouts and depending on your levels of limescale the results will differ. In each case, however, we all reported that the taste of our coffees was less bitter than had recently been the case.If you leave coffee grounds in the ground collector they will go mouldy so could it be the same situation in the areas that the coffee flows. I think yes and I also believe that Cafiza2 is an important product for the health of the users of these machines.
