Amazing :)
I love sushi but with a hectic lifestyle really did not want to bother with matts, hand rolling etc etc. Neither did I want to pay crazy prices for a ready one so ordered SUSHEZI not really hoping for much.Had it for few days now and made sushi several times - this little gadget is AMAZING.Anyone who gives it a bad review (seen one here as "impossible to use" etc) - please read the instructions and just follow them.I really can not see how can anyone get it wrong?I bought a special sushi rice and seaweed sheets in Sainsburys (easily available) - also bought wasabi (green horseradish) and pickled ginger, again in Sainsburys.Opened the "gadget", oiled it a little bit inside as per instructions (I guess it makes pushing the ready "tube" out easier. I put rice on both sides of this "gadget", made space in the middle for the filling (I used smoked salmon , cucumber and a bit of cream cheese and avocado - not all together of course), close the SUSHEZI, lock the side bit on one side and push the other bit from the other size to firm it up inside, took the bit off to side to open the SUSHEZI on one side and pushed it out from the other. What came out was a perfectly formed, firm roll of rice with the filling inside - ready roll /wrap in the seaweed sheet.Easy, quick, no mess - brilliant. If the rice is coming out then you either put too much inside or did not lock it properly. The only issue I had was lack of sharp knife (not SUSHEZI's fault) and cutting the ready roll was not easy but next day I got a sharp knife and wohooooooooooooooo

A worthy kitchen addition
I read the other reviews, quite varied, so for the price I thought I would give it a go. I used to make sushi the old fashioned way, good result fortunately, but was looking for something a little quicker. This product is brilliant. I can see why there could be negative comments so without trying to teach egg sucking a couple of my own steps that made it painless.Brush the inside of the mould with a little salad cream, I mix mine with chilli to give a bit of a kick, it makes the release really easy.Only put 125gms of rice in each side and spread out evenlyCut the filling quite small so it can compressWhen pressing the sushi out of the mould express it directly into double layered cling film. Twist the end to tighten it and refrigerate, it makes it easier to cut if it has chilled for a few hours.Everyday is a school day, have a couple of test runs, I was lucky and got six perfect rolls on my first attempt, cooked far too much rice, lasted four of us for two days. Makes a great alternative way of preparing stuffing, mould, roll express and bake. Have fun.

fabulous.
Fabulous bit of kit. I get a perfect result every time from the first time I used it. I have dexterity problems and it's still easy to use - easier than a mat.Why only 4 stars? Of all the different types of sushi this only makes the 4cm cylinder which I personally find too large. Of the cylinder shapes I prefer the small ones and I think they could have either included a smaller one with the kit or provided something like a thick liner and a narrower plunger to do smaller ones.I'm also using it with cookie dough to make perfect cylinders, freeze them and cut perfect discs to bake.

LOVE IT!!
I’d been contemplating one of these for a long time, but put it off as I was reasonably good at rolling sushi myself. But this gadget made it SO quick and easy!! I made eight big rolls so quickly and it was perfect. No regrets and definitely recommend!

Couldn't stop giggling at how easy it was, but I'm not convinced I got my moneys worth
We live at a time when entrepreneurs, inventors, and creators come up with new, clever and ingenious tech and devices to make life easier for the rest of us. I didn't think the sushi domain needed much of that shortcut touch, but apparently it did and it works magnificently! For anyone out there hoping to get their sushi fix faster than rolling out the mats, the Sushezi's got you covered. All you have to do is prepare your ingredients, and load them on the Sushezi loading chamber. Five turns of the knob, a gentle push on the plunger, and voila! Great tasting sushi in just a few short steps. I couldn't stop giggling at how easy it was.I do, however, have some issues with the Sushezi:- The first is the size of the loading chamber: it's too big. You really have to stuff it with rice so it doesn't fall apart as you gently push the plunger. Having more rice than is necessary really overpowers all the other flavours you hope to taste, especially if you don't wash the rice too thoroughly because the starch helps keep it together. You taste more of the starch than anything else.- The second issue is the build quality of the product. It doesn't feel like it will be around for too long. I can imagine one of the hinges breaking or snapping off after the 3rd or 4th use. Even the plunger feels somewhat loose on both ends.- The third is the price. For £20 I'm not entirely convinced I got my moneys worth if the product doesn't last me more than 4 uses. The idea and creativity behind the Sushezi is absolutely brilliant, but the product itself doesn't quite live up to the asking price. As potential buyers glance over these reviews it might be worth taking these points (and those raised by other reviews) in to consideration.

I found it useful to have a sink of hot water at the ...
Sushi can be a messy operation - this simplifies it to foolproof proportions! once you have given it a couple goes you are a sushi expert. OK your not an expert but once you have made and sliced 5 assorted sushi rolls it is going to guarantee compliments from friends and family. You can stuff basically anything that fits into this thing - Crispy chicken, sliced fillet steak, veg/fruit .....not just fish as is in some cases is a common misconception sushi is raw fish. I found it useful to have a sink of hot water at the ready as the sushi rice is sticky stuff, but even if your only familiar with basic cookery concepts its going to be very simple and easy to produce very nice sushi. Good piece of kit to have in your kitchen toolkit & not just a use once gimmick.

Best sushi ever when dipped in tempura and deep fried!
So easy to make sushi at home now. Tastes even better homemade compared to restaurants. This is simple to use: Squish already cooked sticky rice into each side, add your favorite stuffed goodies to the center next, close it and push it out onto seaweed. Dampen an edge of the seaweed when rolling it up to help it stay closed. For the best tasting, yet unhealthy option: cut the roll in half, put it into a wet tempura mix and deep fry it. Drizzle some spicy Mayo on top or what ever your favorite sauce may be and enjoy! It’s delicious!
