Works
Reduced the vibration level quite a bit so it is less audible in other rooms and can actually be used at night now. I have a stuart turner pump.As others have said it is important to just place it on the mat nothing else (no screws or anything).I have a concrete block (100mm thick) on a wooden floor, the mat on the block, and then the pump sitting on the mat.I'm not sure if the concrete block is important or not, but several user guides (i.e. grundfos user guides) recommend it. The concrete block on its own did not do enough for me so I used it with the mat. overall i'm happy with it.

It works - but a little tip
We have an old shower pump (about 15yrs) which works fine but was very noisy. After reading the reviews decided to give the mat a go, as others I was rather sceptical. Well it does work; noise is greatly reduced. Just one little tip others might find useful the old pump had 4 little rubber feet and after fitting the mat and the pump still noisy I removed the rubber feet and let the pump base sit firmly on the mat, this made a significant improvement. They do not say to do this in the instruction leaflet but I can see why it would make a difference the mat is designed to reduce the vibrations when the pump is in direct contact with the mat. Four stars given as I do think it is rather expensive for what it is.

Twenty five quid for silence
It really works, has cut the noise by at least half. The key is that it really cuts down on the vibration and the bass, i.e. the really deep sound that travels through walls. Installation piece of cake, the trick is to make sure your pump is sitting completely on the mat, but also not touching any other surfaces on the side - our pump sits in a small cabinet, and it was also touching the cabinet wall, so we fixed that as well.Is the sound zero? No. But the noise disruption is a lot softer. Well worth the money.

Noisy vibration - mat.
I used mat for water pump on my boat. Yes it works ok, cuts the vibration off the wood floor in cupboard. Still very noisy!

Very easy quick fix to make a notable impact
Good quality product which made a big difference in sound travel across our house in other rooms and reduced but not totally limited the sound generated directly around it as thats a bit obvious that it’s not meant to fully address.Definitely beats the original wooden plank our pump sat on earlier in our cylinder cupboard.Next step to soundproof the cupboard our pump is in.

Reduces Vibration Noise Not Pump Sound
The PumpMat has reduced the vibration noise through the floor/ceiling dramatically. The sound level of my Salamander pump sitting on a concrete slab was 85db. Replacing the concrete slab with the PumpMat the Db level was 82Db (hence 4 stars not 5). You will still hear the pump operating as before but sitting downstairs under the pump there is almost no transmitted noise. I am considering soundproofing the cupboard the pump is in as a further step. The PumpMat seems expensive (hence 4 stars not 5) for a piece of "synthetic rubber with complex pore geometry" but I don't think a simple piece of foam would work anywhere near as well. So overall the PumpMat is a really worthwhile purchase - just not the one-stop solution I hoped it would be.

I can finally have a shower when the children are asleep
In my house are 2 shower pumps in the loft serving 2 different bathrooms, one a stuart turner showermate and the other a salamander ct50+. Both pumps used to make an awful racket, you could hear them in all rooms throughout the house and I wouldnt dare use them when the children were asleep. I bought one for each of the shower pumps and the transformation is brilliant. In both cases the pumps had been incorrectly installed and screwed directly to a piece of wood between two joists and in the loft you could feel the vibration. I cut up a draper antivibration mat and put that on the joists, I then put plywood on top of that (not screwed down), the pump mat and then the pump. In both cases the extra mats and plywood raised the level of the pump by a few centimeters so I had to trim the pipes to fit the pump in. Obviously the mat contributed to the overall noise reduction but the other changes will have also made a difference. Expensive but does work very well.

noise
a waste of money, installed correctly, and makes no difference to the noise level
