Q: Why is this candle described as large? 72mm x 75 mm is pretty small

Certainly not large. I would describe it as small but is very pretty

Q: Could someome please enlighten me who uses scented candles or any candles why there is so much wick left at one side no mater what way you turn it.

You are meant to burn a candle for no fewer than a few hours to allow the wax to melt across the whole width. If you are only burning for a short time each time you use it you will be left with a lot of wax

Q: Is the burn time of 40 hours anywhere near accurate ?

It does have approx 40hrs burn time but there are lots of things that can affect the burn time you get.Drafts where the candle is burning and not allowing a pool of wax to burn when first lighting and over burning for too long at any one time. But Shearer are known for their high quality candles with good scent throw and long burning times.
